Some of my friends and I are having a picnic soon, and one of my friends said that she would bake some chocolate chip cookies, so I thought it would be a cool idea to make something to go with them. I'm a fairly good cook, and can make pretty much anything if I have the recipe. I only want something basic, like one site I looked at suggested making strawberry syrup to dip or drizzle. 

So what do you like to have with your cookies? Do you have a specific recipe?

By the way, I'd prefer to make something rather than just buying it just to even out the work load. I'm probably just going to choose whichever option makes me drool the most.

jasonZed : I love having coffee or tea, even iced tea whenever I eat cookies. I don't like to drink anything with too much sugar since cookies already have that in it. So maybe tried some sort of warm or cold coffee or tea drinks.

i know you said besides milk, well Milk by far is the best thing to go with cookies, just makes me so happy to have cookies and milk.  Anyway Frosting is pretty good combo with cookies I've learned.   You can dip them in the chocolate dip as well.   Another idea is to mix in peanut butter chips or make chocolate chip peanut butter cookies (mix chocolate chips into the peanut butter cookie batter) Those are one of my favorite types.   I haven't entirely gone too far experimenting with them but if you'd like try Frosting, or any of the other ideas if they appeal to you!

I love to have ice cream with my cookies. Or a shake. Vanilla or Chocolate works. It's fun to scoop the shake up on the cookie and eat it that way :3 As long as you don't wait too long, the ice cream stay semi-solid and allow you to consume it all that way. It's a lot of fun but can be messy though D:

It may sound weird but to me cookies and cream shake goes great with chocolate milk. I encourage you all to try it is not that bad as it seems. It gives it this undescribeable  taste to it.

Wow, all these suggestions sound sooo good. I ended up cooking up some chocolate syrup and putting it in a fancy bottle. We just drizzled it over the cookies seconds before stuffing our faces! Feel free to add your favourites for other people to enjoy as well. I think I'm going to gain a few pounds over the next week or so just to try all of them!

Well milk is certainly the best option for cookies.  However, if I HAD to pick something other than milk, I'd have to go with coke zero. Honestly though, I couldn't fancy anything else with my cookies, but milk  :/

If I want something with my chocolate chip cookies, it usually will be hot chocolate. Tastes so good when the cookies get that slight soggy texture with hot chocolate (bonus with marshmallows!). Extra awesome if the hot chocolate is the milky way hot chocolate that I think Dunkin Donuts once offered. It was just SOOO rich!

Chocolate milk works too, and sometimes smearing a little peanut butter on them makes it taste a little better.
