I think I know how mega man died aside from keji Inafune leaving Capcom. This is a theory, so please state any facts to help.
I say it started with Megaman X7. The reviews for it were mediocre, but I have read a lot of complaints that X7 was complete crap, that the 3d didn't work for megaman in general. Sort of like how some people crit Sonic for not  being as good as it was, people said that megaman isn't as good as it could be. That's enough for someone to start loosing faith in a franchise. Again there were numerous complaints for X8, destroying more faith in that series.
Now this I'm sure of. There were ALOT of complaints about Megaman 9 and 10 having an 'easy' mode. I heard people say that that fact alone defeats the integrity of the Classic series all together, that it made the game worse. Personally, I don't see why people complain about an easy mode when there is a hard and normal mode available.
I think there might be ac connection between MM Legends 3 cancellation and the bad talk about MMX7. People said that 3D didn't work for that MM game, so they shouldn't try to compete with nostalgia as no one will be satisfied. As short sited as that sounds, businesses in a recession are short sited, that along with the growing distaste for current Gen MM games,officially killed the series.

Unless we can find a way to get Keji Inafune the rights to Megaman from Capcom.

Why keji... WHYYYYYYYYYY!? T-T I liked Mega Man, too. I had Mega Man 3 and 4 on the NES, and Mega Man 5 on virtual console. Also, some one needs to do a big turn around to Mega Man by instead of doing slight changes to the sequels, the new people will do huge differences, and major improvements. First, they scrap Mega Man Legends 3 on N64, now they bomb the series completely!? This isn't fair!!!

THIS MAKES GODZILLA ANGERY!!!( me is Godzilla) I am like the BIGGEST MEGA MAN, MMX, BN, AND SF, FAN EVER!!! If they don't bring back mega man, then GODZILLA  SM ASH THEM!!!

I'm the biggest Mega Man fan I know... Probably the biggest here... So I have a few words to say about the beloved Blue Bomber... Mega Man has been in my life since I was 4 years old, and has been my favorite franchise since then. I loved it. I first played my favorite classic game, because I have experience with it, Mega Man 4. Then I tried Mega Man X... It's just so unfortunate... I beat my first game in general... Mega Man X... I was 6... But no! Mega Man! God dammit. I HATE CAPCOM!!!!!

Why did Capcom deface Dante in "Devil May Cry 5" (Or whatever they are calling it.)???

They are after the next generation.
Instead of sticking to what works and saying away form what does not work?
They are remaking stuff that only serves as a gimmick at best.

Why Alter the Fighting formula for Marvel versus Capcom 3 to combine the Punch and Kick buttons onto the same button? They already established a great formula with the "Street Fighter" Series?
Why alter a good formula to bore an audience after 2 months ? Plus limit the amount of characters?
Then Expand on the amount of characters a mere handful of weeks later?

It is about greed.
Pure and simple.

If they stuck to producing great games that have hours of entertainment? (Particularly Replay Value.)
Then they could always generate money.

Instead...
They have tried to increase the frequency of sales through silly cheap tricks and greedy ploys. I suspect that if a fan base has cheapened the deal for everyone else? It is the F.P.S. games with their clones, weak D.L.C., and Short gameplay times. In essence (Incomplete games.)

I refuse to pay full price for Incomplete games that only play for 4 hours. Or require a heafty amount of D.L.C. to be purchased to be even slightly enjoyed.
If attention is to be focused on a fan base for other game related problems? (Witch it should not.)
Then you can look to the "F.P.S." fans.
But..
You can not blame them either.
F.P.S. games are a "dime a dozen."
If you were too eager to buy one on release date? Then that's your loss. (You should know better.)
Back to how this is related to Megaman?
The last Megaman game to be cancelled was an "F.P.S." game.

After this was revealed? I think anyone can put two plus two together and sort out at least a mild idea of what was going on behind the scenes at capcom. (Hint: "GREED".)

Well I haven't heard any anouncements of another developement of Megaman but I hope they make another one I really enjoyed all the Megaman games so far.

This includes Megaman X and Zero and so on.

This is true. They will not make another megaman game as of now. o news about them even thinking about making another one has come out. I love the picture.

DLCJRpc : Good news everyone mega man is in Super smash bros 4!!! It is a possible revival by Nintendo or it's just a smash bro thing only. Who knows!

hardcoregamer2:Nintendo doesn't own the rights to Mega Man. He's just a 3rd party character, like Sonic and Snake were in Brawl. But there's always the possibility that they could use the success of Smash Bros. to show again how awesome Mega Man could be. Then again, they could just keep him buried in the corner.
