But a better solution is to keep yourself busy, snacking occurs when youre idle.
Aditionaly, just snack on fruit or rice cakes or something, thats not much of an issue

Food seems to trigger a somewhat "satisfied pleasure" in the brain. The best thing to do is do what was previously said and keep yourself busy with constant activity. Also, eating "lighter" healthier snacks can actually fill you up faster and in a lower volume than tons of junk food.

The only way I know that works, and it's works for me but I don't know if it will work for you but you can try it. Is whenever you want to snack on something, instead of junk food, which seems to burn off pretty fast which is why you could be hungry more often than normal, is try eating some fruit or vegetables. It can be raw vegetables or steamed. However you like to eat them. You can flavor them any way you want too. So try doing that. Some people get turned off my healthy food, but it does fill you pretty well in-between meals.

The hungry feeling is mental... it's something I noticed can come and go. I can feel hungry, get distracted, and forget all about it until I'm bored again. If you can ignore it, it'll go away.

Also, as others have said, healthy snacks tend to work better. Just don't try snacking on celery. I heard you burn off more calories to chew the celery than what's in it, so I can't imagine that'll fill you at all.

One of the things that you can do is eat slower.  The signal that tells your brain that you are full takes awhile to get there and if you eat too fast, you can quickly overeat, increasing your appetite and causing more problems later.  However, if you eat more slowly, you give that signal time to reach your brain, and you will feel full and stop eating.

Another strategy is to train yourself to eat more in the mornings and in the afternoon, but less at night.  I tried this and readjusted my eating schedule and it drastically helped! I'm hardly ever hungry at night anymore!

Ah, I forgot a great tip!  Try mixing a little vinegar into your foods.

For example, I make my tuna fish with a little vinegar in it (about a tablespoon or so).  Supposedly, something about the smell, tasted, and chemical make up of vinegar will cause you to feel full faster.

It isn't about what you eat, but how much. You should still enjoy the things you love to eat, but keep portions within reason. Also, always try to eat when you are hungry, and not just because you want to; treating food as anything other than a need too often, can cause it to become habitual.

I sort of have this issue because I chew my nails so I tried to revert to food to keep me from chewing my nails as much. Didn't work, got two bad habits instead of one, easier to beat bad habit. To help ward off the issue, when I feel "hungry," I drink water instead. Drink a ton of water, you feel full. If I'm wanting to eat for the flavor, I pick something that I like the flavor of and I munch on it slowly. Not scarf it down.

It also helps if you pick foods that fill you up more. Meats, for example, fill you up more and take longer to digest. But not processed meats, like hotdogs. You want something that is whole, like steak. So maybe a ham sandwich will help?
