My favourite video game series is a tie between Mario and Grand Theft Auto. I do like the Mario series for its creativeness and carefree games, and then I like GTA because of all of the things you can do in it with your friends. 

Well I going to have to go with Pokémon hands down nothing better excluding Mario

 :| This is something ive wanted to talk to someone or SOME site that will under stand when I ask them this: now yes, there are lots of other people that like shooting, killing, swearing and gory games.Now the point is these games many people like or love if your THAT kind of person, but has anyone really thought and stoped for a second to think that these games where hard to create with thought? I mean how hard could it be to make a action shooter gore fighting game; yes DOOM was new but people have been taking it a little to far in my mind,
I mean I can come up with one right now: "WW3 dooms day" witch stars "joe" in his quest to kill the alien invaders, now yes im going to say Nintendo right now and before I hear: NINTENDO GAMES ARE RETARDED AND ARE FOR LITTLE KIDS! I have something to say (like you could not figure that one out ) why are 18+ or 17+ gamers so hateful towards young 10-12 kids? or 6 year olds. because there stupid? well 2 thinks: first of you where once one too, second they are not stupid they simply dont know everything about normal life. Back to the point of Nintendo, Nintendo really put a huge amount of time and effort in there games (examples) Mario,Zelda,metroid,kirby,Earthbound,F Zero,Star fox,Animal crossing,pikmin,Kid Icarus. Ya there is others and you might be thing Nintendo has less games then microsoft and Sony but what Nintendo did is put some thought in there games, HARD THOUGHT Mario: about a plumber that trys to save the mushroom kingdom from a evil turtle race called koopas and the leader bowser, who has a 3 brothers PSthe extra 2 are wario and waluigi) that help him, well besides waluigi, hes never has been in a full on mario game . IS THAT A THOUGHT OR IDEA FOR YOU?!?!? I mean Nintendo even saved the gaming universe when they made Super mario bros. when all of the gaming companys where going out of business,
now if you really have a good argument to put up with this comment, no this STORY go right ahead bye.

My favorite franchise is Legend of Zelda. I loved everything about the games, the dungeon setups, the weapons, although newer weapons would be nice

The Mario franchise always seemed to be in a special place to me during my youth. From the original NES to the Wii U, it's been really fun playing games with him. I really enjoy the games, and most of the Nintendo franchise's series, but Mario seems to win here.

Anyways, back to the question, let's see.... I guess I could say Megaman, Sonic, Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, and the Mother Series. Yeah, I like variety.

Mine would have to be Pokemon. I mean I have liked it ever since I was a kid. Its just really cool to see how graphics and Pokemon develop in the newer generation of Pokemon games. The re makes are also really good too. Heart Gold and Soul Silver really surprised me. My battle with Lugia was my favorite Pokemon battle. And the battle with Red was just plain awesome.

Metal Gear is my favorite Gaming Franchise.

Even in the 8 bit games, the story was immense, the gameplay was great, and the overall fun was in great amounts.

It shined in Metal Gear Solid, it got better with Metal Gear Solid 2, and became perfected in Metal Gear Solid 3, my favorite game of all time. The series has been spectacular since it's beginning, and it can only get better, which it has shown with Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Rising, with Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes coming out next year, it will indeed make the year great for gaming.

My favorite franchise is Zelda. I throughly enjoy the dungeons and the side quest, also the weapons and items you can acquire, plus the boss fights are nice. Looking forward to playing Link Between Worlds. My second favorite is kingdom hearts, for I love the combat system in that game.

Pokemon because is a cool RPG and have a lot of kinds of Pokemon.

First I want to say how is Zelda not on the list of choices I mean out of my all time top favorite 5 games Zelda titles take 3 slots(A link to the past being # 1 ocarina of time # 2 and Majora's mask as # 4). I think most of us can agree that the Zelda and Mario franchises are the only two really in the running the other titles just don't have a fan base spanning over multiple  generations like Zelda and Mario does. So yeah I vote Zelda but to be truthfully honest I think in a toss up in between Mario and Zelda Mario would win from its more extensive fan base.

My favorite series has to be a tie between Star Ocean, Breath of Fire, and Suikoden.

i would have so picked final fantasy or tales of or start ocean but in my opionion they can't surpass kingdom hearts. the storyline really pulls me in  and i really enjoy the characters and everything else about the game

Well my is Sonic for me. Sonic was a big part of my childhood and hell it was even my first memory or at least the earliest memory I can remember. 

Since my last post here I have been introduced to other series or in some cases reminded of them.

I reminded myself how great the original metroid series is, the NES one to Metroid fusion by playing Super Metroid. I had played that game a long time ago on the Wii Virtual console and almost forgot about it. Since I was quite young, roughly 8 or 9 I was a bit of a noob and had not a clue what I was doing but coming back I could really take in the game and enbrace the extreme depth. 

I have also been introduced to the amazing half life series, from the original trio of events to Half Life 2 episode 2, the series have been great. 

Both half life and metroid come close to Halo it becomes tough to choose the best.

My favorite is probably either Pokémon or Kingdom Hearts, maybe a tie between them. I love both series. With Pokémon I've played it since I was little, my first game was Ruby version, and even before I played Ruby I watched the Pokémon anime. With Kingdom Hearts when I first played KH1 I fell in love with the story and characters, and I've always loved Disney so I loved the worlds and Disney characters in the game.
