I'm not sure if all of you have heard about this or if has been posted somewhere here but there was recently a man on the news where I live from the untied states, he was on the news because of a video he posted on YouTube about his daughter, facebook and her laptop basically. To sum it up for you if you haven't seen the video the man's daughter wrote a letter on her Facebook wall after being warned about posting that type of stuff, so once her father read it he took action to fix the problem. You can watch the original video here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1ujzRidmU  it's about eight minutes long and it does contain some swear words and so on.
After watching the video and hearing what he has to say, do you think he has the right to do this? Personally I loved the way he dealt with this I thought it was actually quite funny, the instant I heard it on the news I actually had to YouTube it and I've watched it many times since. I think he had the right to do this to show proper punishment and so on, though I feel partly bad for his daughter because she's apparently grounded until college now but he gave her a warning the first time she did it anyways. What are your thoughts on his parenting skills and the way he dealt with this? I can't help be curious as to what you all think about this, there as been a lot of talk about it so I've seen so I thought I would see what you guys thought.

I think what he did was hilarious personally. Besides, why wouldn't he have the right to do what he did? Isn't he that persons father?

Yes, I think so. If she is going to be so incredibly disrespectful and UNGRATEFUL towards her parents because it's her job to do some chores around the house, then I think they have the right to set her straight. And didn't he say that he bought the laptop in the first place? Technically it was his property that he gave his daughter the priveledge to use, and she lost it.

Jordanv78 : yeah sorry about the lay out thing, I would fix it myself but I'm not really sure how to since Gal made it for me. If you want to ask him to change it you can, I wouldn't mind I liked it when it didn't have the scroll bars and spread out more. So no offense taken. And yes he is the parent to the girl but some people have been saying he abused his daughter by doing that which I really don't understand, I am all for what it did it's actually quite funny in my eyes.

Actually your second post with the smaller font was much easier to read then the first one with the red font.

As far as the subject at hand goes, I think that the father was just trying to reach out in a way that would make his daughter listen. IE using social media. I definitely think he had every right to do what he did. His daughter was incredibly selfish and hopefully he taught her a lesson. Though maybe I can just sympathize a little because of my roommate. The guy gets to live in my brother's apartment for free and complains about the little bit of work that he does in order to "compensate" my brother.

I think the daughter deserved what she got, she shouldn't have been so selfish and ungrateful towards her parents. 
I don't think his daughter will have much respect for him after he hacked into her 'FB' account and totally destroyed her laptop. But the father was saying that he spent loads of cash on updating her laptop so he could have just kept it for himself or simply sell it.

This girl got what she deserved. While I can understand how annoying parents can be sometimes (even had a thread called Annoying Parents), it gives you no right to insult them over the internet. That's not what the internet was created for.
Now, on the other hand. The dad showed WAY to much immaturity. He's like a kid who got his feelings hurt, so he broke someone's toy. Now, what I think would be hysterical is if the police show up at his house, and it turns out that he didn't have a permit for the gun...that would be an EPIC fail.

Personally I think he has the right to do it is his property if he bought it.He bought everything she needed and she back stabbed him thinking he will not see the facebook post.
But another story if she bought the laptop I don't think he had the right to shoot the laptop. He also shouldn't make her pay for the bullet's he has them already so why pay for the bullets if you already have them.

After seeing this I am planning to always keep my mouth shut and keep my anger inside and never let my family know what I am thinking. I'm just glad that all my folks would do is repremand me and not shoot bullets into my computer.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.
