Ok this morning's breakfast brought up an interesting question.  Who can't cook in your family?

My dad is an ok cook but at times it seems to fail more than succeed.   This morning he cooked me eggs and asked if I wanted them over cooked and I said yes.  (I love to use eggs on my toast and not have them leak all over).  Well I went to put my eggs on the toast and not only yolk but the whole eggs just splattered all over the place!  The white wasn't even cooked!  Yet my parents hate when I don't like their cooking so I had to stomach eating completely raw eggs.....  I had to drink 3 cups of juice just to get rid of that horrid feeling of eating raw egg.

Now my dad is not the worst cook.  My step mom is!  She will try to cook mac and cheese and mix the mac with the cheese mix/milk/butter in the cullender (the bowl with holes in it).  The cheese gets into the stove and takes hours to clean!  Then when she makes egg salad she puts nothing in it not even mayo!  Oh and when she tries to make cookies they all come out flat and hard!

Now my cooking is the opposite from these two buffoons!  I know how to cook mac and cheese that is easy!  I also make the eggs not only fully cooked but nice and fluffy!  All my pastas have at least some onion if not also with garlic.  My dad makes pasta with no spices it's so bland.  The cookies I make come out so nice and fluffy!  They are still sweet with half the sugar!  It's funny even my little sister will only eat my cooking.  She hates my dad's dry and burnt pancakes but if I make them she will eat 3 of them!

So any of you have bad cooks in your family?  Also how good are you at cooking?

Honestly, I'm quite good at cooking, not perfect but I success most of the time the meals I do. I want to cook one day in the future some California rolls but I need some ingredients that I can only find in a specific shop.

None of my family is a worst cook. My father is good too, my brothers too but my mom is really awesome, all the meals she does are delicious

Cooking and baking is a skill that seems to run in my family. My mum makes jams and preserves to sell, and she also loves to bake, she's also won prizes for her banana bread. My two youngest sisters also like to bake and do it quite often, they have bake sales every few weekends.

My dad has always been an amazing cook. He makes lots of breakfasts, roasts, stew, stir-fry/Chinese food, sushi, and so on.

Personally I usually cook meals from scratch about every other day or so.

So that leaves my sister who is closest to me in age... She's not necessarily terrible at cooking, she just doesn't know how, and therefore doesn't put any effort in to it. Whenever she gets something to eat it's usually: Kraft Dinner, microwave dinners, oven fries, or instant soup mix. The last time she tried to "cook" something with her boyfriend, they ended up making a sandwich that was slices of cheddar cheese and canned ravioli on french bread. LOL

My family's worst chef is my little brother, but he's only 14.  He also has the same problem Annette has with her sis.  He's too lazy to do anything more than open a can and heat it up.

I'd say I'm probably the worst chef in my family. I'm not quite as bad as your father, but I'm pretty sure I run a close second. But I can make a mean grilled cheese sandwich, and that's got to count for something, right?

Definitely me, no questions asked. Everyone else in my family can make a decent original meal once they start throwing things together. I am the only one who can't really do that since I'm so lazy when it comes to cooking my own food, that I consider myself the worst.

In my immediate family, I'd say that my Dad is the worst. However, everyone is pretty good. I know a little bit and if I practiced more, I think I'd be pretty good.

Actually, now that I think on it... I'm a pretty good cook when I team up with someone else. I have a pretty good eye--or rather a good tongue--for flavor, and always seem to know just what spices to add to bring out the essence of pure flavor in food. I'm just not good with the "big picture" stuff, like not burning it, or getting the consistency right.

Lazlo Falconi :   Well I did start at age 4 with grilled cheese sammiches (ya I like saying it that way so I spell it that way lol). 

Right now best tip if you want to get your meal right follow the recipe then once you get that done then you can experiment.  That is how I started out now I am great at what I do!

The worst cook out of my immediate family is probably me. I can cook ok I guess, but my mom, and dad are much, much better cooks than I am. I keep thinking I should take some culinary classes to broaden my horizons, but then things get crazy at work and I never get around to actually doing it.

My mum. If i didnt know any better id say shes trying to kill me, lasagne isnt suposed to be grey *shudders*

RequiemHaunt : Hmm. I'm not sure. I guess it's my cousin. Pretty much everyone in my family can cook very well. Even I'm getting better. My girlfriend's family, on the other hand, is another story. Terrible cooks. LOL.

Also I can't trust my step mom around oil three times she has almost burnt the house down.....

RequiemHaunt : Well it's not all that bad, like I said, I pretty much know what to do with spices and whats not, I'm just not good at measuring the times. Also, all the recipes I know are handed down family secrets, and there's no book to follow. =(

At least if mine burnt the house down i wouldnt have to eat the food, you should have seen the other meals, that meatloaf still haunts me, i dont wana tell her id prefer rat poison =p
Safer i cook my food.

Me. I can't cook at all. I usually don't make anything right tbh. It usually ends up burnt or not done correctly.

My sister in-law can't cook. She burns everything. She's kind of uhm, spoiled and dumb. LOL. What can I say?

My mother in law. Eating at her house is tough because she makes all this dripping, greasy, nasty messy food. That's gross anyway, but I had my gallbladder removed when I was 15, so I can't handle super greasy food without getting crampy and queasy. She also hates every topping/vegetable/seasoning known to man so everything is super bland and awful. She made shephard's pie with just hamburger and tomato sauce, with a coating of mashed potatoes. And she was feeling adventurous, so she put some green beans in. I, however, make shephard's pie like a boss. I'd never heard of it before Lazlo told me his mom made it for him, so I guess she can have a little credit, hah.

In my immediate family, I'm the only one that cooks, and I cook like a champ. However, Lazlo Falconi has me trumped on grilled cheese. His grilled cheese are redonkulous, and like he said, he has a great taste for flavor. I season everything like crazy, and he always tests for me to make sure it's balanced and delicious. So we make a pretty great team. Glad I don't live with his family or my family. My family cooks pretty okay but my mom doesn't cook very exotically. I like complicated foods with lots of colors and veggies/seasonings. She kind of cops out.

Me, obviously. My grandma is like the god chef and my mom knows how to use the oven

Galacta : As long as you know how to make ramen noodles and french toast I think you can be classified as a fully functioning adult member of an advanced society. Who needs to know how to cook anything else?
