Such a large amount of money ought to be taken to the local authorities first. She needs to see if anyone lost it --I don't why someone hadn't lost so much cash. If no one goes to the police to claim it, then it legally can be hers.

The most cash I've ever found on the ground was $40. I didn't see that was a big enough amount to take it in. I gave half of it to charity.

they were probably going to buy something or else got paid for something, whos to say the owner isnt riping his stuff apart looking for it?as it stands you've got a home and a bed,plus food,thats all you need. i rarely spend money cos i aint making any,and i could definitely use some,but so could the person that lost it, they earned it not me, ill make money through my own hard work.

I've never lost a dollar bill in my life because I'm careful, and I know if I lose any money, it won't be returned.

I think your friend should tell the bus driver and use the cameras in the bus to say who dropped it.  Then the bus driver could give it back to the person the next time that person rides the bus (That is unless the bus driver keeps it .)  I'd feel pretty bad if I lost 100 dollars so I should give it back to that person if I was your friend.
