My very first Mario game was Mario for GBC and I've played it on many consoles since (DS Lite, PS1, and Wii to name only a few). It was very easy to learn and play and it was a game that I instantly liked. I haven't been addicted to a Mario game nearly as much as I was the first time, but it was definitely a time to remember.

My first Mario memory would have to be Super Mario 64. I remember when I was around 5-6 years old watching my cousin play it and I would get scared when I saw Boo or Bowser especially while hearing their soundtracks. When I got to play it, I got rid of my fears and got more addicted to Mario games ever since.

Many times, I stopped, but I finally got 100% in Mario 64 DS a few years ago, making me proud of myself. I got New Super Mario Bros. soon after, me having less trouble.

A while back I got a GBA, it was my first console, well handheld, and with it came Pokemon Emerald and Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga. 
I was a huge sonic fan so I had no idea that those pesky plumbers were supposed to be in a platform jumping game. I didn't like the RPG style and Pokemon Emerald was more appealing, probably something to do with the battle system. 

I later got the Super Mario World remake for my birthday. That game was perfection to me, from that I played many other mario games though my favourite will always be Super Mario World, for the SNES since I have played that one on vizzed and it is just better in many ways.
