Well, living in Kansas, you never know what the weather is going to do. Last  year, I got 4-5 days called off from the University due to snow. Although, unlike High School, I have grown to not be AS fond of them. Don't get me wrong. I still love them. But since they can't extend the date that classes are over if too many days are missed, my classes get harder the more snow days we have. We have to finish everything no matter what. So when we get behind in lecture, that means more reading (and more assignments over the reading to make sure we got it) and crunching to make up for missed days. There is less time to get help, which tends to be needed when the classes have to go at a much faster pace to make up the time.
