Personally, I really haven't played an actual Legend of Zelda game until a few months ago when I got it used at a variety mall (which is weird if you consider the date I posted the LoZ movie thread) mainly because I never got new games growing up other than what friends would let me borrow. I do vaguely remember playing a little bit of Ocarina of Time when I was really young (I only remember Mido being a brat), but other than that I've really only seen Link in Smash Brothers. Before you hate, at least even as a kid I knew that Link is the main character while Zelda is the princess who's always getting captured. Anyway, what's your earliest memory with the games?

The first game I played was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, though I don't remember much of what I did in it when I was younger.

I do remember playing the beginning of the game over and over again and searching around Kokori Village because I had no clue what to do next when I was 5. xD

I never wanted to play the part with the Great Deku Tree though, because that part always scared me a ton when I was a kid. I didn't like the spiders or the creepy atmosphere or the way the tree looked at you... It really creeped me out back then.

I also remember playing as Link a lot in Super Smash Bros back then. But I wasn't very familiar with the adult Link because, like I said, I never went past the first 30 minutes of Legend of Zelda OoT. xD

I actually jumped on the Legend of Zelda wagon pretty late in the series. The first one I ever played was Legend of Zelds: The Wind Waker. I played it at my cousins because she couldn't figure it out. I became so hooked on it the whole time I was there. I couldn't get through the whole game due to lack of time. So when I got home, I started searching for any Zelda game I could get a hold of. The next one I played was Legend of Zelda II, which is probably why I am in that minority that doesn't deny it as a Zelda game. I can't believe it took me so long to start playing it.

My very first memory was sneaking into my brothers room while he was at work to boot up the Super Nintendo and play A Link To The Past. Somehow, after I finished playing, the entire game glitched up or something and erased my brothers file. He was so pissed off at me. >.>

My first memory was bitter sweet, I got Ocarina of time at a garage sale with Majora's mask and started playing Ocarina, but I was 9 at the time and my parents didn't like me playing such a violent game, so I was rectricted from the game until I turned 12 THEN the game got epic for me, that was when I stated liking Zelda. and that was when I became a player and a fan of the series

I was 3 years old when I started playing video games.

My first game was Legend of Zelda on NES.

My mom taught me the controls and how to play, and I learned how to play Zelda.

I beat it at age 5, very fun game!

I have vague memories of TLoZ, Zelda II, & ALttP, the newer the game, the more distinct the memory.

One of the weirdest things I remember is a magazine article giving tips on what to do in ALttP about the net. It said: "So get you net!" instead of 'your' net. It cracked my mother, grandmother, and myself up.

Another weird memory I have is about MM. I didn't have it at the time but I really wanted it so I was reading every magazine & guidebook that I could get my hands on that talked about it. One night, I was apparently dreaming about it, sleepwalked to my grandmother's bedroom, said something about the game & walked back to my own room......yeah.....I'm a fanatic about the series.

My mother remembers an episode of this old comedy series called "Perfect Strangers" where they were supposed to be playing Zelda II. We haven't been able to find that episode yet.

Apparently it also erases your post layout if you edit a post.... :/

I honestly got into the series way later than I should have. I played it the first time with a friend of mine, but not too long. After that, really, I started playing on Vizzed, as embarrassing as it is to say, Nya~.
And sadly, I still haven't completed a single Zelda game yet. ;-;

Erm, other memories, uh... Does getting a necklace piece of the Hylian Crest count as a memory, Nya~?

MegaRevolution1 : I'll let it count! Don't worry, I still have yet to beat OoT. I'll probably have time for it this summer.
Also, I remember some friends of the family letting me borrow the game, and all went well until I told my mom about the Great Deku Tree being cursed. I didn't really get to play any further.

My first legend of Zelda memory would have be when I got Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo 64. All I really remember is the beginning, but even that is pretty vague.
