I assume you mean at night since the middle of the day isn't very different.

I usually go outside and watch the stars. If the power is out in my house, then it's out in the whole neighborhood which means all of the street lights are off for a change. Especially when the sky is clear including a new (dark) moon, the number of stars that you can see continues to grow every few seconds.

That's one thing that I love about not living in a big city.

It depends if it's night or day. Whenever the power gets cut off during the day I usually grab a novel to read and wait until the power comes back. At night I grab my phone to use as a flashlight and listen to any music my ipod has at that moment.

The last time the power went out on me, I was training with my class at the Recreation Center and we got kicked out of the building. After that we played Apples to Apples and other board games by candlelight. It was the best power outage ever, and that says something!

Actually, I think it's been pretty long since the last power cutoff around here. Hypothetically speaking, if it was during the day, then I would just play a few games and maybe call a few friends (with a cell phone) if I got bored, otherwise, just game/study

I think the power permanently went down here just once before, and it was only for like 10 minutes or so. But my sisters and I weren't used to it, so we were freaking out and everything and looking for flashlights.

The entire neighborhood was pitch black dark... Which is pretty scary to look at at night. But it was also kind of exciting at the same time. x3

But since the power came back a few minutes later, it didn't feel like much happened.

I used two power inverters and had two 12 volt plug-ins, so I had plenty enough power to recharge my handhelds, recharge my laptop, etc. haha
