I would like the teacher better, because they know how to pronounced my name, and I can learn something new from the teacher unlike the substitutes I have.

Hi mike, when i went to school i liked to have substitute teachers better because they are usually more lax with the work they give you. Plus if they ask you a question like something the normal teacher does it can get funny.

I always have bad luck with substitutes. I've come to hate a large majority of them.

I think the worst substitute I had was when I had a library book on my desk, somebody walked by the desk, brushed against it and it fell to the floor. I bent over to pick it up, and the substitute for some reason just snapped, picked up the book, tore it and tried to make me go to the office.

What the heck?
Same reaction from the class too...

At least I never had to pay for the library book. But after that incident, whenever a teacher said they'd be away on X day, I usually just didn't show up at the school that day either. Just told my mom that classes were canceled. I usually never missed much anyways.

Of course it would have to be the subsititutes, becuase that usually means that your not going to do a lot of work that day. Although you can get some mean subsititutes sometimes.

I more prefer substitute teachers because they are usually nicer than the original teachers because they don't know anybody in the class room so they try acting nice. They are nice to me and they give me food if they have any.

I prefer teachers because the substitutes don't really know how the class goes and would do things that isn't what we normally do.  The substitutes don't know you as well as your teachers so it's hard to interact with them. Not only that, but I noticed that when we have substitutes it's like we get more work to be occupied with. I really like my teachers so having a substitute really disappoints me because I'm so excited to see my teachers but then at the end, they're not there.

Either way. Both are like the same. Subs doesn't do stuff you usually do and can be nasty sometimes. It depends what kind of teacher you get for sub.

I personally like having the teacher because I like having someone who knows their students and can control the way they act. About a good 90% of the time I have a substitute teacher they either, act like they run the class and have their own rules and ignore the plans and ways the regular teacher runs the classroom. So basically act like they own the rules and class and they run it, its like 'your just a substitute' then they say the teacher isn't here, and they make their own set of rules for the day. It is kind of annoying because the students think its just a dumb sub and they proceed in whatever they're doing and ignore the sub and don't take them seriously because the mai person in charge isn't here, which is so disrespectful to the sub who is trying to do their job And also, when we have a sub in any class, they have like 20 worksheets the teacher assigned and expet to get turned in by the end of class. Which we might normally just go over withthe teacher over a few class blocks instead of all at once. Most kids take the opportunity to make their own seating chart and sit wherever they want, and talk the whole class when there is a substitute. So rather then go through the trouble, I like it when the person who knows how to run the class is here and can keep things under control. Nothing against substitute teachers but, no one takes them seriously in my school. This is just my opinion on it, but their are some substitutes who can be fun and firm to the class!

Definitely a substitute in every one of my classes except for English because I love my English teacher. They either let us watch a movie or if they give you work you don't have to do it. I also don't have to listen to my Biology teacher gripe for a whole hour.

You know, I could not really tell you. I have been out of school for a little over a year now. I think I liked substitutes better, because I could rush through my worksheets, and then get permission to go the computer lab and play emulators. XD

I have had really bad experiences with subs. I always get written up twice a week (something like that). When a sub comes it goes over board and i'm out of there in like 30 seconds. All the subs always judge me and don't ever understand my personality so they send me away to the office.

I always preferred sub teachers, seeing as most of the teachers I had at school were to darn strict. Subs allowed a little more breathing room, and made me feel more comfortable to work around.

Lol. When I was in school, All the teachers knew I was trying my hardest to get expelled and because I have never been to a school for more than 3 years, (I went to 7 primary schools)  they wouldn't expel me or even suspend me because I had 1 and a half years left at this school. Took me a while to figure this out but as you can imagine, I had a lot of fun with this and can say I defiantly abused this to my fullest. Only trouble with this was substitute teachers, they didn't know me and so I used to get in a lot of trouble with them.

I prefer actual teachers...
Substitutes just can't control classes.... seriously... and the "no homework" part?
Doesn't exist since teachers leave notes for the substitutes to follow anyway.
The only change to homework is it just takes longer to get back

Oh gosh! The teachers, the teachers! Almost everytime I have a supply teacher the lesson is sooo boring! I only like it when the supply teacher is a teacher of another subject in my school (e.g my former P.E teacher covering our R.E lesson isn't so bad) The only time this year/grade I liked the supply teacher teaching us was Geography on Wednesday. Not that he was a good teacher but I messed around big time and got away with it. I was loud, I drew the diagrams messily and illegible. I usually listen and behave though. So in short I agree with iN008.

Me personally I favor substitute teaches because when there's a sub for the period, the work is gradually more relaxed and easier, you can basically get away with more things such as eating and listening to your iPod during class and I find subs more entertaining and laid back then my actual teachers and way less more annoying and more lenient toward what ever you do.

When I was in school, this is pretty much how I follow with regarding Substitutes.
Old substitute teachers are very strict and young substitute teachers are fun to have.
