JigSaw : I ran into that numerous times in theater shows. There are comedies that had some things that are just hilarious. The key is doing it over and over. For some parts that were expected to have the most laughs, we would spend an entire rehearsal day on those specific scenes alone. We basically had to do it so many times that they didn't phase us anymore. Pretty much did those parts until we were sick of the jokes. But even then, with an added audience reaction, it could be hard to not at least crack a smile. 

Not really. The only time the audience slightly bothers me is when a really unfunny joke or a joke I don't get at all is told and they laugh. >.>

I dislike laugh tracks, I tend to avoid those shows, but I do watch 2 of them, Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men.

I already made my answer on this earlier but i never really watch those shows just Smart Guy and thats it but for the show thats suitable for kids you never hear a huge laugh out of the audience you only just hear 4 or less ppl laughing

I LOVE the live audience because there's always some chick with this crazy maniacal laugh that cackles at every joke like it's the funniest thing she's ever heard, and it cracks me up. Also, when there's a serious conversation and some old guy starts coughing. Hah.

As for canned laughter, it's irritating if I'm in the other room or something and I'm not seeing/actively listening to the show. But when I'm watching the show, I'm either laughing when they laugh or just paying attention to the show and therefore it's not as obvious that they're guffawing and carrying on.

Only when it's overdone other then that i don't notice it

I don't really mind the audience, as long as they aren't too overly loud, or laugh at every single thing...

I think the last sitcom to have a live studio audience was Tool Time... Wait no was that show Home Improvement? Whatever it was that had Tim Allen as Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor. Anyway, I think that was the last show with a real audience, and it was actually very beneficial towards the jokes. However, these days, too many shows have a laugh track that, like KG said, has one woman who thinks every joke is the most hilarious thing in the world. But once a show hits its groove, even the canned laughter isn't so bad, I can get over it most of the time. But I always hate the first season of any show with a canned laugh track. It seems that the producers think every line has to be a joke in the first season and just sit there with their fingers on the button, never letting off. What a bunch of maroons. Additionally, there are some shows, like The Big Bang Theory or Dharma and Greg that never grow out of that phase, and become a chore for me to watch.

Short answer: Yeah, it can bother me.

Don't really bother with most TV shows, especially sitcoms, these days. I find the laugh tracks pretty pointless, though. From what I've read, the use of that laughter in sitcoms was just because it turned out sitcoms with canned laughter in them had more ratings. This was around the 60's or whenever sitcoms made use of the laughter.

Isn't it nice that laugh tracks are the result of being easily amused in the 1960's?

When the joke isn't funny, yeah. But sometimes I feel good to hear it.

And yeah, most shows record a audience laughing and just play that every 10 seconds.

I don't really like the laugh track audience all that much, since they seem to laugh at the most absurd things.

And nowadays, they don't just laugh but react to the whole situation too. I'd rather just have nothing at all, really.

One Time I Watched A Show, The Audience Laughed So Often You Could Hardly Hear The Person Talking. Thats Probably The Only Time It Gets Annoying.

I don't really care too much about the audience but regardless I would laugh if there is a funny scene occurring.

I really think it's a button they press and it's the sound of people laughing.

But I really don't know how it works, It might be a group of people sitting there to laugh at every "funny Joke" they say. But yeah, I have to agree with you, It can be really annoying..

Sitcoms, half of the time I don't even get what they laugh about. It is very rare that part's in sitcoms for me are funny.

I find it somewhat annoying. You just show you a good show, they have all the fake studio audience sounds and its pretty irritating. More on the "trouble brewing" sounds. They sound like they don't care.

Kinda... I find them REALLY annoying on the Disney channel shows...Most part of Their jokes aren't funny.

It depends. Usually it is VERY annoying because half of the things that are done are not funny or whatever. It kind of ruins the show. The way that I see it, if you're going to add the audience, then use them correctly

Funny thing? I think that the audience is a good thing in some situations.
