And so the moderators played a game of Hot Potato with the thread. 
If we want to get an idea what it's like when one game references another, I'll give some examples. The first thing that comes to mind would have to do with F-Zero X. In that game there were multiple references to Star Fox. On of the charaters in that game was named James McCloud. Despite how obvious it was that he represented Fox McCloud's father, he did not bear any actual relation to Fox. If you want to see it for yourself, play the game or check out the F-Zero Wiki. There. Does that give everyone an idea what we are talking about?
