How often are you sitting in class on Friday planning for the weekend in your mind and all that junk and then your teacher hands you a packet or starts a speech and then you hear the words or see the words. *DUE MONDAY* This happens all of the time for me and I hate it more than anything in the world. I usually forget to do the projects or I take far longer than planned because my brain goes on holiday for two days which is why you have a weekend in the first place.

How often do you get those projects that you must due over the weekend? Do you ever forget to do them? Do they ruin your plans? (They always ruin mine )

That is one thing I like about my college courses. We pretty much know all of our assignments from day one. We get reminders and all that, but we know what our assignments are going to be, when we will have gotten enough information to do them, and when they are due. So technically, you can get yourself far ahead, but you would have to do weeks-months worth of reading or research to do it.

rcarter2 : I have only had one teacher ever to do that. That was the best class because it was easy and I could do all my work really easily because I knew what I could do. I also enjoyed that type of teaching because I wanted to work all of it really fast because I knew I would be busier later in the year. I did all the work (though it took a long time) and then was done with it. The only bad part is I still had to sit in class.

Though most teacher tell you like a day or two before a project is due and that is when they assign it. I have this happen in two or three classes weekly and it really gets on my nerves.

Yeah. The good thing about that class style is the fact that if you are able to do the homework ahead successfully, it makes it a lot easier to follow and understand the lecture in class. When you can do that, it makes the exams a LOT easier, and you don't have to study as hard for them. But I do remember having teachers who sprung assignments on me on Friday that took a few hours to complete. That always did suck. I'm glad I am past that, and I will not do that to the students in my class.

I hate when that happens. I usually have a lot of things planned, so it would have been better if the assignment had been talked about earlier.

Yeah, projects over the weekend aren't fun. Teachers always seem to assume that you have nothing to do over the weekend when in fact I have some very important business posting here on Vizzed.

No, but really. I don't get the point of weekend homework. If teachers get to relax on the weekends, why can't the students?

Someone70 : They have to usually grade on the weekends. So they want to spread the misery to us and tell us that we must work as well even though they hate it them selves.

I really hate weekend home work. I am not doing some if it right now just because I am really not in the mood for it.
