So, I am pretty sure that everyone here is a nerd or geek in some way (I'm kinda both), and we all have those things that we do that show it. So this thread is for talking about what those things are... when was the last time that you geeked out? Was it lecturing a friend about Greek Myth? Correcting a teacher on a problem? Organizing your game collection alphabetically by system?

My last geeky thing I did was cataloging my coin collection. I have a thing for interesting and foreign coins, and you can get a lot of them if you work a cash register... for example just the other day I found a 100 Won coin (from South Korea) in my register at work mixed in with the quarters... so I swapped it for an actual quarter. Right now the pride of my collection is a 1943 steel penny and two banknotes from South Vietnam.

... and a LOT of Canadian coins.

Knowledge in general. Ignorance is not bliss to me it annoys me. If I do not know something I will probably do something like study the stupid thing until it bores me and is second nature. I also nerd out by doing things like forums and teaching other kids coding. Though what they do is usually juvenile I love to make larger projects and mess around with many programs. What I do on this computer is very nerdy.

I correct my English teacher all the time.

I dunno,i started explaining why laptops cost so much in great detail the other day.
I also get into deep discusion about history and politics,and play video games,thats the stuff i can closest relate to nerdy/geeky.

Well, I am a puzzle geek, I suppose. A few days ago, I got out my 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 Rubik's cubes and tried to beat my old solving times. I did the same with my Square-1.

I'm pretty much fixtated on machines, especially computers and other electronics. I also constantly analyze and want to learn more about psychology. I'm pretty much a geek in general. I consider geeky and nerdy to be positive words if used for such purposes. I am by no means a nerd, though.

If I had to quantify, I'd say I am a minor geek and a major nerd. The nerdiest thing I have at the moment is the desire to get a tattoo of a d20 with the words "Alea Iacta Est" below it... it's Latin for "The die is cast", roughly, and is a famous quote from Julius Caesar... and I'd be using it as a D&D reference. Yeah... total nerd.

somehow in the 5th grade just getting good grades is being a nerd/geek.and i dont get in trouble often so that is again somehow nerdy.but sometimes i just pull out a worksheet or make up some random math problem but i dont see that as a nerd thats out of pure bordem.so im kewl and nerdy at the same time

Well, I'm a big science fan. That right there is grounds for total geek/nerdism. I also love telling people I also have good creativity- Several years ago I started coming up with and writing down magic spells for an RPG (and weapons). The list eventually grew to over 200 and put them all in alphabetical order. Hell, you can see it a lot of it in my profile if you haven't already been there.

I'm proud of being a big fantasy nerd.  I play a lot of RPG games, I role play in about ten different notebooks with my friends, and hanging out with my friends means we sit around on a grassy hill and pitch ideas of different apocalyptic scenarios and what we'd do in those situations while drinking Mountain Dew and occasionally changing the subject to either Monster Hunter or Persona 4. 

I also seem to be the only person who's bothered to predict what would happen to North America after the zombie apocalypse (Assuming it doesn't spread to other parts of the world.  Also assuming the disease originated in Central or Southern America).

I talk about video games a lot. I also look like a nerd. I am a total geek/nerd. Lol.

I like to say my friends with Japanese honorific because it confuses them. Also I once spent about 8 hours playing the arcade games at a movie theater because they were free the games weren't even that good they were just free .

One time for band I composed the theme for mario for a trio(3 instruments)
took along time I can no longer find the music and no recordings were ever done which sucks for me

Well, the only thing I can recall that I geeked out on. I tend to alphabetically order by the systems and I still do it, but that's the only thing I can tell you. I normally don't pay attention to what I do half the time. 

I memorized the first 41 digits of pi, solved a Rubik's cube, corrected one of my friends when they said our classes were 45 minutes with a 2hr delay schedule(the exact time was 43 min), I usually read for over 2 hrs a day, organized my bookshelf in alphabetical order by author, and attempted to teach myself trigonometry.

The last nerdy thing I did was spend a couple hours reorganizing my Magic the Gathering collection. Then I spent another hour developing a deck. Edit- actually the last nerdy thing I did was make this layout.

If by geek you mean jumping up and down with excitement then the last time I did it was when I saw the live action trailer for Skyrim...which happened to be today.

Um, I play Pokemon on a daily basis so that. Other than that, most people at my school think it's geeky to read manga.

Well, I constantly make references to games that nobody has heard of, but the only game people know at my high school is Call of Duty, so I'm not sure that counts.

I got into a Elves vs Dwarves debate with one of the baggers at my work... we both agree Elves are superior. Then it morphed into my telling him how Pathfinder is superior to 4th Edition D&D in every way.
