I was wondering if anyone here has a Google+ account. Just last month Google+ was made available to the general public, and I heard rumors that it is even better than Facebook. So if you have a Google+ account, could you please share your opinion on it? What do you like about it? What do you hate about it? Can you compare anything about Google+ to other social networking sites?

A friend of mine said that no one under the age of 18 is allowed to make an account. Also, I heard that you can share personal updates, photos, etc. selectively. Like if you want to share something that is very personal, you can choose to share it with family and close friends. If it is something not so personal, but most people will not care for it, you can share it with a specific group you make. Maybe you have a group that is specifically those you know on Vizzed.

I've had a G+ account for maybe 2 and a half month now, and I think it's very well planned and nicely put together.
Yes, you share posts, pictures, etc with a certain group of people. These groups are called "circles" and people can be in more than one circle, people can't see what circles they are in.

I would like it more than Facebook, if there were more people in it.

I have been using it a bit but I ended up just leaving it. I do not really care that much because I know all my friends on Facebook anyway. I also did not really like the circle system. Nice try but I did not think it was so great.

My guess is that it is in the best interest of google, legally, to keep the bar at 18 if what you say is true. I thought about creating one, but decided that since I deactivated my fb a long time ago, there is no true use. The reasoning is similar to "billythekidmonster" that the only people I friended/would friend I usually meet on a daily basis.

I like socializing on forums or in real life. I feel more anonymous on forums and more safer. From what I have heard, it is supposed to be really nice for those who are into this sort of stuff(prolly 90% of people )

If in the future I do join, there should not be any worries as I am actually over 18, LOL.

Meh. It's a Facebook ripoff. I haven't gotten around to signing up yet.

Eventually it will be called Google- and you will be able to delete web pages by giving them a minus.

I've had a Google + account since this summer, and to tell you the truth I don't really use it that often. It suffers from the same issue that Facebook did when it first started...the fact that no-one's on it. Not quite sure if it will ever catch on either. It has some nice features, but in the end it's still pretty watered down.

Jordanv78 : Would you mind explaining a little bit of what you consider to be "watered down?" What features do you think Google+ is lacking? To an extent, I would think that it could, somehow, be a good thing so as to avoid overloading the members --like what happens with Facebook updates even though no one seems to ever leave.

AuraBlaze : I don't really think there are a ton of features that are necessarily "lacking" it's just that it lacks the MAIN thing that a social networking site needs in order to make sense...People using it.

I've been using Google+ since before it went public and, like all Google products, it's awesome. I especially love it because my family doesn't use it, and the general poopulation* isn't using it yet, so there are much fewer bad posts. I have a ton more friends on Google+ than on Facebook, because it seems like Google+ has a higher calibre user base, and the people there make posts of a higher quality. I also love the circles feature, it's so easy to share with just my friends that I personally know, or to skip out on everything that wasn't posted by people not in my family (Which currently is not much). It also allows me to easily quiet people who post way too much, because I can just put them in my "Too loud" circle, which only share very few posts with me.

It's also much easier to handle pages on Google+. I had a Facebook page for the company I used to work with, and it was such a chore to deal with it that I sort of just let it die and forgot about it until about a year after I quit working there when my boss asked if I'd delete it so he could start a new one. But on Google+ I run a FreeBSD users page, and it's actually even more entertaining that updating my own page!

The only thing Google+ suffers from--and I use the term lightly because I think it's a blessing--is that the general populous isn't using it yet, but that's really for the best. It's not cool to like things when everyone else thinks it's cool, you know?

Well I just made a Google Plus account like a few days ago except I don't really use it very much. I only added two friends at the time but maybe one day I'll be on Google Plus a lot more than facebook....

I've had Google Plus for a while now, but I don't really have anyone on it... Lazlo and another friend are really the only ones who use it. =/
I'd like to use it exclusively instead of Facebook, but no one uses Google+. =(

Lazlo Falconi : Please do. I don't have quite enough things to read and do on my cell phone, and Google+ works fantastic on my phone.
In fact, show some of the others here what circles they are, so we can all benefit!

Well I can't share them here (First off that may be against the rules--not sure on that one) but if anyone wants to follow my fan club I'll post some circles up there this weekend.

Well from what I've been hearing, Google plus will be the new facebook over time.
