In elementary and middle school, I believe we had around thirty minutes.
In high school, we had half-hour lunches until my junior year. Then they started academic support and anyone with all passing grades got an hour long lunch. Mine was an hour long 3/4ths of the year.

As I recall, in elementary school we had a 15 minute recess and a 30 minute lunch+recess. In middle school, it was a 90 minute lunch split into 3 groups of 30, which later became 2 groups of 45, and in High school it's back to 3 groups of 30.

We've always had 45 mins of recess...both in Elementary and High School. I thought it was mandatory for a 45 min to an hour recess for all schools in America..
