So, just the other day I helped a friend of mine DJ a dance for a middle school and it got me wondering....

What do you guys think of school dances? Do you go? Do you like them?

Just wondering because the school we were at everyone seemed to be into the dance. They had a ton of energy and we had a lot of fun.

However, growing up I remember school dances not being that much fun. I remember them being kind of lame...

So what do you guys think? Are dances awesome or lame?

During high school, I only ever went to two dances: Homecoming during my freshman year, and my senior prom. Both were actually a lot of fun. I didn't have a date to either, so I spent the entire time just hanging out and dancing with my friends.

I think I had more fun during my middle school dances, though. Partly because my high school ones tended to play ONLY rap (which I hate) and my middle school ones played music I actually like. =|

Personally I think dancing is something that one should be ashamed of and as such should only be performed in the privacy of one's dwelling...jk. I think I'm too tense for dancing in public. That's the usual reason for why I declined most of the dances we had in school. However, I'm sure that I'd change my tune if I had a date or they planned ma song.

Well I have liked the ones I have been too. I went to homecoming last year and it was a ton of fun. I did not have a date or anything I pretty much just did what I wanted. I had a fantastic time.

Dances are kind of free-style at my school... it isn't really a dance, just a bunch of people wandering around screwing with things. I remember one dance when a couple of friends and I stole a few helium balloons... well, you can guess what happened from there.

My opinion on school dances is mixed. I like them sometimes. But I also really don't like them. I hate them sometimes, I love them others. It really boils down to my mood. My favorite thing about them is dancing with all of your friends.

School dances are not my thing.  I would go to the prom because it is fun to see my friends there and have a blast, but if it is like in the school then that is really boring.  I did go to a school dance and I did not like it, I just left early because it is stupid.  There was not a lot of people there and the music was terrible.  Going to the prom is kick ass.  You get to choose songs to play and it is loud and fun and so many words to describing it.

I don't look at myself as one who can dance, but dances were still one of those things I usually attended, anticipated, and had fun in my own way. It's just my personality to enjoy watching and hanging out with everyone. My physical dancing occurred on rare occasions. Band banquets were always a must go and I thought our Senior Prom was amazing. The place just looked really good. It was like one of those higher class proms from a hollywood perspective. I especially enjoyed being on Prom Court, but alas, I was not crowned king. In college, I miss the existence of such planned events. Only 'dancing' around here seems to be limited to drunk gatherings at clubs.
