Yes, I have given a speech before. Mostly, for School assignments though. I loved it on all occasions. For me, I hardly follow what I have written on the paper and just give a summary instead, while including a few personal stories (if possible). I feel it gives me a chance to speak from the heart etc...

I've given many speeches throughout my life. They were all just for school, though. I get really nervous and it's hard for me to concentrate because I just feel everyone's eyes on me. I shake, my voice shakes - it's awful. =s

The only time I really didn't mind being in front of the entire class was during creative writing, my junior and senior years. I really liked sharing my stories with the class, haha. [= Plus, I knew everyone in those classes very well, so it didn't feel like I was reading them in front of random strangers.
