Not too often though that's not to say it hasn't. it's more so my touch pad responsiveness or the mouse. But the computer has "hiccuped" a few times running OS built-in processes.

  At the moment I have a laptop from 2004 that has 50 gigs of space and 512 MB of ram;  it's possessor is less than ideal, and watching anime is like watching frame by frame photography.  I'd say on a good day, it malfunctions minimum 3-5 times.

Since I am using a new one now, I have not had any serious problems yet. My old one could freeze up depending on the applications running, but the worst things I experienced with it were somewhat random. Sometimes the sound would simply stop working. On random occasions, or when I was turning my old laptop on, the track pad would lock up and I would have to use the keyboard to restart the laptop if I did not have a mouse available to use.

It malfunctions very rarely.

The only time it does is when it goes on standby while I'm getting something. Sometimes it'll go into standby and make it impossible to restart. So I end up having to force shut down the computer. Often times losing a TON of work.
