Not REALLY close.  I do live in a state that boarders the ocean, so I suppose that that counts. The Pacific coast is about 100 or so miles from my hometown. It takes a couple hours or so to get there.

No thank god. I am somewhat close to a river...but not an ocean. I would never live close to an ocean....in case of a natural disaster or a flooding...it could be dangerous. I live in a city full of lights and buildings.

I live relatively close to the coast. I'ts about a 30-45 minute drive depending on traffic. I guess I don't but I am closer than others. When I go to the ocean I usually go to Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay (rarely), mostly Santa Cruz.

No and I don't care to.  I went swimming in the ocean once and it was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever been through. I couldn't dunk my head under the water because I would get salt in my eyes every time I surfaced, and I wound up with about 2 lbs of seaweed in my bathing suit. Ewww.
