So yesterday I was riding my bicycle and some lady pulled around a corner and I didn't see her and she didn't see me and when I finally saw her my brakes wouldn't work so that resulted in me getting hit by the car. Luckily I wasn't seriously injured all I have a really large bruise and cut on my right leg that's it. It wasn't really a near death experience but it was very scary and made me realize how important life is to me.

So have any of you had any near death experiences?

Holy crap. At least the leg isn't broken.



I have had one, when I was swimming, rip tides came and nobody knew I was out there for about 5 minutes, I almost got taken under a few times. It was a horrifying moment in my life, it made me value life a lot more.

I've had quite a few.

When I was little, I know I had to be about under 6 or so, I was at the lake with my family. My dad was having us kids on his back while he was swimming, well when it was my turn, he went under the water without telling me to hold my breathe and I almost drowned. He laughed. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I almost drowned and it scared me. Who wouldn't be scared, especially when you're little.

Another time, I was much older by now, I was stalked by a friend of mine. She wanted to kill me and basically live my life. Thankfully I got out of that situation without being hurt.

I've almost been killed twice in a car accident. Thank goodness I wasn't hurt in either of those.

I've only had one, and a mind-f**king one, at that.

I'm 99% sure this was only a dream, not a memory from myself when I was 3 months old.

I almost died from a disease from meningitis, and the moment where I was flat-line (my parents watched, that's how I know.), I got a NDE, and it was completely confusing. I saw colors, hearing people speak to me, saw bright white, and stuff like that. As most know, I'm deaf, and I shouldn't be able to remember a person's voice, but I do. I can "hear" it in my mind, which was from that dream or NDE.

I've had a few. When I was 6 or so I nearly drowned in my grandmother's pool but my older cousin pulled me back to the shallows. When I was around the same age I fell into the Los Angeles River and was swept downstream a good twenty feet before my dad pulled me out... lucky for me he was a good sprinter. When I was 9 I was hit by a car, breaking both bones in my left leg and shattering my helmet.

When I was 22 I was driving down a road and crossing an intersection when a beat up truck decided he would try to beat me to make his left turn from the opposite direction (I had right of way), he then stopped in front of my path like a moron (or someone looking to get insurance money). I veered right and around his front end, clearing it by inches and the light pole on the corner by some more inches on the right side. I snapped back to my lane, lost control of the car for a few seconds and went into oncoming lanes... luckily it was late and there was no traffic, I regained control and went on my way to Denny's to meet up with friends and let the shock wear off. Oh, I had only had my license for about six months at that point, so this is also my proudest moment.

I don't remember this, but when I was 6 months old I fell down the basement stairs in my walker. As young as I was they had to call an ambulance and make sure I was ok. Luckily all I came away with was two black eyes.
Then when I was 16 I was almost hit by a speeding dump truck that swerved around my bus. It missed me by just inches. It also almost took out an entire bus of kids.

Elara : WOW, those are scary. At least you know you're a good driver and can spot someone else who drives recklessly. I'm glad you're alright, cause I got to meet you.

Well, you at least walked away with all of your bones in tact, I had a few of those moments happen myself and they are not funny. Not at all. Well, at least your ok. Thats all that matters right now :/

About 95% of my near-death experiences come from almost drowning. =/ I'm not afraid of water, but I will refuse to go in the deep end. The last time I almost drowned was during PE class my freshman year. We were having swimming lessons and I stupidly went into the deep end of my high school's olympic-sized pool. I immediately started freaking out when I realized I was stuck in the middle and tried to get to the edge, but couldn't. I've always been a horrible swimmer. =|

Luckily, I made it out alive since the teacher FINALLY noticed and threw me a preserver, but the whole experience traumatized me so bad that I vowed to avoid the deep end at all costs. =/ And so far, I've kept my promise to myself. 

Dang thats scary! Glad ur oki! I had a couple of near death experinces.. they all involved drowning.. and I still haven't masterd how 2 swim lol but Im ok now.

When I was 1, I had an allergic reaction and I did not have my epi-pen yet since we did not know I was allergic to anything.  Luckily, the reaction was minor, or I would not be able to tell the story now.

Wow....be lucky you didn't die! You only escaped with only a cut and a bruise? Wow...a girl in class got hit by a car once and had to walk on crutches for the rest of the year.

The only time that I can recall fearing for my life occurred a little over three years ago. It was my friend's birthday and she was having a pool party. Until I had arrived there, I had no idea that she had a pool with a deep end. I just assumed it was a normal 4-5 foot tall one. Anyway, when we were in the pool, no one seemed to believe me when I said that I couldn't swim. And I sank a few times when they tried to get me in the deep end. I held onto my friends for dear life. Luckily when I went down my friend grabbed me. I went to the edge and just stayed on the shallow side until everyone got out. I was so nervous, scared, and embarrassed. I've been afraid of deep waters ever since.
