What is your favorite horror game?


Horror games are games meant to scare people.


These can range from F.E.A.R. to DooM to Resident Evil.


My favorite is Left 4 Dead.

Silent Hill and Resident evil. Great games. I will advise though that if you want to play Silent Hill, to not play the first one. Play the second one. It's so much better.

Left 4 Dead 2 was so cool playing, and it is pretty fun to play and very addicting, so my vote goes for that.

My favorite horror games include the first three Silent Hill games, Dead
Rising 2(if we're just being overly generalized, and using anything
with a horror element as the basis for a horror game), Parasite Eve,
Shadow Hearts(it counts... Oh it counts... The first town you go to is a
cannibal village, for one...), Resident Evil 4, and I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. I love horror games. I'm looking forward to getting as many good ones as I can find, in fact. I can't wait for the day I will finally find Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube.

Galerians hands down. I'm not much of a horror game buff but I just love this game. Not something for guys to play though. Mostly fanservice horror game for girls. One of the bosses wears bondage...... And it's not a girl.

What makes it a horror game:
Blow up peoples brains
Set people on fire
children used as test subjects
dead bodies found in peculiar areas. (Frindge, in a car in a fountain, in a sink)
masive amounts of drugs
blood and guts
babies in robot bodies
crucified bodies

Definitely Devil May Cry. Note, I don't particularly like horror games, since they are just boring, but this game is actually quite enjoyable and I put it as number 2 in my favorite games list.

MegaRevolution1 : Ironically, the first Devil May Cry game was intended to be a Resident Evil game, but it started to look nothing like a Resident Evil game as the development went into making the prototype. Not making fun of you, just had to say what it was originally intended to be.


By the way. Only reason I'm not nitpicking here like I usually would is because of the broad term used. Horror could easily be used for Animal Crossing just because Resetti is scary to be annoyed by. Haha. May as well say stay on topic.

I do like the first Dead Space game, but as far as horror goes, the only thing it does that scares me is use of some sounds that actually made me have the beginnings of an anxiety attack. The sound that caused that was some really loud grinding sound that could have resulted in my ears feeling like they should be ready to bleed just because of how furious the sound was.

There's some things you shouldn't have in something meant to be scary. This includes sounds that could give someone a pounding headache, ear pain, and what should be the result of feeling sick from trying to get Sonic Free Riders to be playable. I advise anyone with hyper sensitivity in their sense of hearing to have the remote at hands range when you get to that sound in Dead Space.

Amnesia. Defenitly Amnesia. I have never played it, but just watching someone else play the game literally had me tensed up, and in deep suspense when a monster was near by, that music with a monster near seriously creeps me out. The monsters themselves creep me out, and the fact when they see you, there's only a slither of hope that you will be able to get away does not help. Make matters worse, to not be seen, you have to not even look at the monster, this was a very good little tidbit they added into the game. You have to fight the constant urge to see if the monster is there, and the way the rules look, you see it, it sees you.

I would never ever be able to actually play that game, even with other people in the room with me, daylight outside, lights on... I am very scared of such games like that. There's no way to fight back at all? No thanks LOL. They truly did a good job on that game.

Vincent Swiftstrike : You're advertising the game on accident, it seems. As someone who loves horror, and finds little things in fiction that scary, I'm wanting to play that. The only thing holding me back is not knowing if my laptop could play it, and my dad refusing to use the credit card to give me any money for Steam. I'm still finding some way to figure out if Steam even uses Paypal...

I was explaining the thing that scares me the most. As you can see, the only thing I typed about the game was how the monsters work very well to make the game scary and how that interacts with you as the player; and the monsters scare me the most about that game (As they should in my opinion). I didn't talk anything else about the game at all.... well, nothing other then the fact that even though I can watch people, I still poop my underpants.

My favorites are F.E.A.R. and Fatal Frame.

I dunno, I've played a lot of them, but the only one that stands out for me is the Resident Evil series.

Favorite horror game..hmm, I don't know many "horror games" besides Resident Evil, Left For Dead, and Twisted Metal. I don't know if they're exactly scary but the best I can come up with.
