Voice acting in games

There is some controversy between the original voice acting and English voice acting. Which do you think is better?
Mainly JRPGs but can concern any game that has been localized in America.
English. They do a great job and it sounds better than the original voice acting.

Asian. The original voice actors are better and any other language takes away from the game.

I've only played the English releases of games so I have no preference.

I am a weeaboo so anything that's not Asian is automatically bad.

With the advent of better consoles and better means of storing games, they should make the effort to include English and Asian voice work and give you the option to choose.

I think that choice number five would be the best because it will give the most choice but I voted for choice one because the games I've played have just had great and true voice acting. They will actually change some of the content in the dialog to fit the language and that just makes it more authentic.

I think that the option to choose would be awesome. I would probably choose the English play through first (just to understand what's going on), then I would do the Japanese play through.

I have never played any import games the closest was Tatsunoku versus Capcom and I liked the Asian voice work in that game. Other than that I play mostly American games, or the Japanese ones do not have voice work in them.

Your poll makes it seem like anyone choosing Japanese voices are some sort of supreme elitists...

Anyways, given the choice, I would choose Japanese voices over English because I just prefer the former language better. I would love it if a game had both, though, because I could do one run through in one language and another in the other.

An option to choose would be pretty cool, in anime the people always sound completely different in Asian, not just language ofc but for example one of the animes ive seen recently had a weedy sounding kid but in the English dub he had a deep voice which was weird.

tbh though i prefer no voice acting in games i don't know why but i like using my imagination to think of what the person sounds like

In most Anime games like Naruto the english voice for the characters barely match the movement of there house. So It is easier for an asian voice language to match there voice. Also basically games/shows like Pokemon, Naruto, dragonball z, and bleach are basically main asian games until It transported to the U.S and just change the voices to english.

I don't really care as long as it isn't unbearable. For example, I don't mind Johnny Yong Bosch yelling Kyrie, because Devil May Cry 4 is an action game that has a storyline. The action game part is being used in such a game more. I do consider good, or at least passable voice acting to be important for survival horror games. You can't feel much fear when you have to hear Goofy's voice actor voicing with his Goofy voice as you play as a guy who is addicted to the T virus's drug form sold to him by a guy who looked like a zombie.

Actually... That would make for a good joke game in a Resident Evil game...

I'd like to not hear words coming from Link's mouth, by the way. Maybe he really does tell Zelda, "Excuse me, princess."
