some people i know add friends straight away on ps3 or xbox live and i think its just wierd tbh, i'd rather get to know the person then add them as a friend rather than just get a random pop up of a person i have no idea about wanting to constantly play multiplayer

I think it's better to know each other first before adding a friend randomly you never know if that person is a hacker or a virus. You should always know the person a little bit first, like you know gain there trust like the trust point thing that goes on in Viz.

but you have never ever meet that person.  I personally think its OK for short lapse of time but for for long time it is a bit weird feeling that comes up.  But definitely online friends help a great deal, but still there is curiosity that would instill.......

I play a game at another website and I met a guy on there in real life.  We're drinking buddies now and it's a blast.  But we're both late-20s males and we're both secure in ourselves.  When you're young or female, you take huge risks meeting random strangers online in real life.

I, on the other hand, have no reason for others to come out and meet me.  I don't think I attract pedos or rapists.
