I'm reading a "Thousand Rising Suns" by Hosseini during my free time between classes. It's different, but I'm trying my best to understand character actions with respect to their different cultures.

I read the first five chapters for "The Sun Also Rises". It's been an okay read so far. I'm assigned to finish Book one by Monday, so that shouldn't be too bad since it's a fast read. My first Hemingway novel and I like it so far. It's much less daunting than I thought it would be.

Just re-read the second Percy Jackson and The Olympians book: Sea of Monsters. I'm re-reading the whole series for the second time. The great thing about the series is that you can re-read it as much as you want and you will not get bored of it. The book is based on Greek mythology in a modern setting.

Right now I am currently re-reading Vampire Academy for...I don't even know, maybe the 7th or 8th time. Love the series and want all the details fresh in my mind when I go see the movie next Friday. I really love the friendship between Lissa and Rose. It's definitely my favourite relationship in the series and what got me hooked in the first place.

"John Lennon in America."
I dig history but getting the modern history out of the actual people that have lived it?
My instructors were very jaded about telling the kids how it really was when they were young.
So, I read plenty of biography books.
I do not stop with America either. I go all over the globe with it.
So....
Rock Stars and their books are a great source of info.
Good Luck To All.
Peace.

Just finished reading "The Catcher in the Rye".

I don't know why, but I tend to read novels where the reader hates, or annoyed at, the main character. I swear, the main character is so pessimistic, but that's kind of what gives the novel it's humor. I found it more funny than anything else, actually. It's an easy read too, for me anyways. Except for a few slang every now and then that I couldn't understand.

Maybe I'll go read Fried Green Tomatoes next.

Last book I read, Beowulf. A poem about a hero slaying a monster, its mother, and a dragon with an epic death. It's a boy's dream to be like a man.... Just like Beowulf

The last book i read was Command Authority by Tom Clancy. It's a posthumous publication. Basically, jack ryan is the president of the U.S., and he has to come up with a way to thwart russian agression after the russian people elect a neo-soviet as head of state. Meanwhile, his son is working as an analyst in london, and while investigating the aquisition of an independent oil drilling company by a government agency in russia, he shines light on some disturbing facts. It's a good book overall, but the climax seemed a bit rushed.

The Salty Scarecrow Solution. I am still in the midst of reading this book, but something I can say about it is. I didn't think that it was a good book. Now I see what that saying always meant. Never judge a book by its cover. I will never underestimate that saying again, because that book is awesome .

As far as unfinished books go, I'm still reading Beautiful Creatures, it's an amazing book and it teaches us that not everything is what it seems.

For finished books, I've read Into the Wild, which was a fun story about a dog and his adventure through the harsh life of an Alaskan dog.

Recently I've been re-reading the Percy Jackson books. I guess they were just such an integral part of my middle school years and well, I'm known to succumb to nostalgia.

Also in honor of the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie I've been reading some Rocket Raccoon comics. Because he's literally the most adorable superhero I've ever seen.

Just finished Heroes of Olympus: House of Hades. The Percy Jackson series will always have a special place in my heart, and even though I'm getting way to old to read it, I promised myself I'd read the series to the end. If you love Greek mythology like I do, however, this series is a must read. It combines the traditional stories of monsters like Arachne and heroes like Hercules (Heracles) in a modern setting with "Demigod" heroes.

I've just recently read Navigating Early, by Clare Vanderpool and it was absolutely amazing! The way the author intertwines the story of Jack, Fisher and Pi was awe inspiring. I would Highly recommend this book.
