I was at the laundromat with my grandma and brother when I go to the snack vending machine to get some kettle cooked, salt and vinegar chips. I put the money and it starts to vend me the chips, when it gets stuck, next thing I know I got two bags of chips! but then my grandma pays for the other bag defeating the whole thing

I can understand your grandma's side of this argument. I was in a near exact scenario just last week. When I was dispensed two bags of chips, I mentioned this to the only authority I could about it --the security gaurd. He was actually glad that I felt the need to do so, and he let me keep both bags of chips. I would have set aside the second bag if I had to pay for it.
