A lot of people who proclaim that they're big Street Fighter fans have told me that they never played the original one. Of course, the original was a lot different from future installments, and based on some videos I've seen, it's pretty damn hard if you don' use your special moves (Hadouken, Dragon Punch, and Hurricane Kick).

So, have you played it? I haven't, looking forward to playing it if Vizzed gets an arcade emulator.

I have played the original Street Fighter. All though from what I remember it sucks. The game is very basic and un smooth. The version I played was also called Fighting Street, I hope that it is the right game.

I've seen reviews on ports of it. One that Ashens touched upon was a shoddy port for one of the computers of that time. That port was what would result in some terrible old game Ashens says we've never heard of called Human Killing Machine... The company that made that port and that offensive game make mobile phone games now, so don't worry.

I haven't played the game yet. The TurboGrafx-CD had a port that was called Fighting Street. You can get the original arcade version off the Wii's shop channel, probably. I'm more of a Tekken fan, personally. The fact that Tekken's characters use actual types of martial arts and wrestling is much more appealing to me. Oh, and Tekken 6 has a morbidly obese guy who is really good at martial arts. Haha...

I have never played the arcade cabinet version, no. I HAVE played Fighting Street on the TurboGrafx 16 CD though...the game isn't very good compared to the others.

I played it at the arcade when it came out, horrible, horrible game but it was good for the time. It's amazing how far street Fighter has come, although it's so complicated now that it's really off-putting.

I don't believe I have played the original Street fighter game, unless you're reffering to the game Final Fight. Other than that, the only thing I could think of being the first is Street fighter 2, which I have played multiple times. I have yet to play the arcade version of Street Fighter but I do own both Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 2 Turbo on my SNES, and yes I agree you get beaten to a pulp if you don't know your special moves in the earlier versions of the game
