Don't you hate it when your parents ground you for the dumbest reasons. Last week i got grounded for going to my friends house and i forgot to shut the inner door. The town i live in is really safe and my neighbors were outside and they wouldnt let anything happen. another thing was the car was in the driveway and people would have thought we were home. Man sometimes i think parents like to ground their children or they are ust very paranoid.

Yes lol I used to get grounddeeddd alot mostly for bad behavior but alot of stupid things to. I don't get grounded anymore though cause I usually stay on my best behavior .. except when I bug mom or my sisters and stuff but thats normal lol

Next time, you'll think about it before you go out the house and you'll remember because you got grounded last time.

Parents ground kids for reasons. They don't do it just to punish you.

Lol, don't trust your neighbors that much. They're not members of your family, and not your close friends either. There would always be thieves somewhere out there even in the safest areas. I left my wallet(inside my bag) in the classroom for 10 min. and it's gone, but I got the money back after investigating things. I didn't told her name (the thief) to the teachers but I'm not trusting her anymore. Inside a class room with 20 students, I thought it was safe enough to leave my bag unattended for a bit. Definitely a whole neighborhood with 50+ people is worse.

There's no way of knowing if no one really saw you go out of the house. What if the thief waited for all of you to be out before doing his job?

I could leave our house with my car parked beside the gate, but that doesn't mean i'm at home. So don't forget to lock all the doors and gates. I got scolded once for forgetting it.

I get my phone taken away for the dumbest reasons....I don't get grounded very often, though. you shouldn't have gotten grounded for that.

When I did get grounded, it never was for dumb reasons. Although there were times I felt that I was being grounded because my brother was grounded, meaning that even though I had nothing to do with the situation I was still in trouble for something my brother did. Now do not go think this is true. This was only how I felt at times, probably not how it actually happened. I'm 21, so it has been year since my parents ever grounded me.

My parents never ground me as I never give them reason to. Hopefully things stay that way and I don't get into trouble in the future. They've never done it for years and if they did it is because of their love and for the protection of me.

Well I'm an adult now so there's no such a thing as "grounded" for me. As a child, when my parents grounded me I'd be very upset and throw temper tantrums. That definitely didn't change or improve the situation, so I decided to follow the rules of the household and/or everywhere, and I'd never deal with be grounded again. Sure enough...it worked!

You should do the same...your parents aren't grounding you out of spite or for their entertainment...it's to teach you a lesson hoping you'd learn from your mistakes. Next time, remember to shut the door! Even though you think you know your neighbors and the community, you could have potentially put everyone in your house in danger.

i got grounded because i was supposed to take the recycling bin inside but the wind lew it away and i didn't know what it was and my i got yelled a put because she put recycling in the new grass and not the pavement

Ok I got grounded once when I was 17 for hitting my brother. That was the one and only time I hit him. (Don't remember why I did it, I think it was cus he was slacking off too much in the house and all my anger exploded...)

Funny thing is ever since I moved in with my step mom I get grounded a lot! I'm 26 years old and they ground me for the silliest of things! Some times I might be doing the chores the wrong way. Examples (Prepare to laugh): Going too fast, not using the dishwasher, not dropping everything to fill their needs. It's like I'm cleaning up the living room and if they want me to go clean the counters I have to stop cleaning the living room and do the counters or I get grounded, but then I get grounded because I didn't finnish cleaning the living room....

I also get grounded when I try to explain myself for what I was doing... Oh there are sooo many other funny things they ground me for like for being too happy, for letting my sister beet me up, for walking too fast or slow.

Well I'm just glad I have nothing for them to take away for me, I don't have any electronics, and I don't even have my own room or place to store my few cloths. All I have to my own possession is two pairs of pants, 3 short sleved shirts, 3 swetters, 2 coats, 2 pairs of shoes, and a couple undies. I used to have note books, but those got trashed by my little sister.

So being grounded for a serious thing as not closing the door is not bad, you should count your blessing that you have a real family~ Tell your parents thank you for caring about you and your family~

I used to get grounded for things like
stopping at the park on the way home
from school or leaving the door open
to walk to the storage in the apartment
building. the door was right beside ours.
But now i never seem to get grounded anymore.

I got grounded for haveing a c on mah report card turn to find out I had a 96 A and my teacher got it wrong I showed my mom and the then said she was sorry but I was still grounded

ive never been grounded and ive done some pretty bad stuff im pretty suprised actually. The thing i found was when i do really serious stuff which i wont go into my parents seem to just avoid me for a while or if i get in trouble with someone else or police or something they just say what i did was wrong and i shouldnt do it again. (im not a criminal dw)

when i do things in a certain way like doing chores wrong like requim said in his post i get scolded at and omg my comes from Peru a latin american country and JEEZ can those south americans shout. But yeah tbh I'm the one that gets really annoyed when people leave the front door open my parents do it all the time and i often have a go at them for being careless, seriously dude if all your stuff got stolen how annoyed would you be lol :p

One time my parent grounded me because I answered the door via their command... I don't know why they grounded me at that time, and still don't, lawl.

I can see your mom's point, someone could've easily broken into the house and stolen a lot of stuff without much effort.

Last time I got grounded was for streaming games online without telling my parents. I mean really, do I have to tell them when I'm streaming every time? They 'grounded' me, but I always sneaked back onto the computer anyways.
