Of course you fight back. If you make yourself a harder target than the next guy, you won't get bullied any more. Bullies pick on people because they're easy and they don't stand up for themselves.

Stand up for yourself and the bully learns that it can be not as fun to go after you, especially if you lean in and black up his eye for him. Even if you get smoked, you made your point.

No, it doesn't. Depends on HOW you fight them back.
If you think that defending yourself is becoming like them, you are wrong.
Defending yourself and others (!) is your right and I'd say moral duty.
Sometimes words can be more powerful than a knee in the face,
but that doesn't mean you have to become verbally abusive.
Be above them, if you understand.

It is intresting you say "no". What do you do then? Get beaten up every day?
Think teachers and parents are able to help? to a certain level, they are...
but at the end of the day, it is about your self-confidence.

I used to fight back with bullies but I don't no more cause I learned as I got older it makes me a bullie too and I'm now a bullie so I just quit and when somebody does that to me I walk away.

In all seriousness, I am more of a non-violent civil disobedient...in theory. However, I tend to want to get physical; usually because no one expects a skin and bones dude to fight - element of surprise, ya digg? However, I've been told that I can take a hit or two or few. Anyway, if a bully gives you problems - and if the bully is just doing things for no reason other than to torment you - I say either be the better man and just ignore them OR confront them. Be assertive without sinking to his level of aggression. However, don't be too passive because he'll just repeat the behaviour. So yeah, assertion. That's the best way to go.

No because I could get in troube also and besides I can't fight that well. Speaking of fights, there are rarely fights in my school which is a good thing.

you can either take it, or punch them in the face and stop it. If you cant fight then sucker punch them near teachers, they wont let you get beat up.

The best way to defeat a bully is to ignore them so that they will get tired of bullying you,thats my own idea.

People wont talk s*** if it gets them punched in the face, they seem to understand it then. You should have fun fighting while your still young, once you hit 18 they through your butt in jail. Take a boxing class or karate, a little bit of skill goes a long way against someone with no training.

Me i would personally fight back bullies are just scared people who have to act tough but really aren't had one in elemantary school had it with him and just kicked the crap out of him broke his nose,gave him a black eye just busted him up he looked crazy stupid with the face i gave him.i was not suspended or nothing after everything was explained to the principal.He was suspended for a week or so if i remember the day he came back he still had a black eye and I looked at him and just said how u feeling buddy?He said nothing just like a dog with his tail in between his legs just felt good.now i dont condone fighting or anything but u have to defend yourself and I did he never ever bugged me again

I'm a non-violent person. I hate fighting, but if I'm constantly being pushed around and picked on until I'm finally backed into a corner even after I tell someone about it. I will then just let it go and fight back. I won't hesitate to defend myself when the time comes. I'm typically a peaceful person, but even I can have a short fuse sometimes.

I totally agree with you Natas,,,because there are times that we have to fight back also in the right time and exact timing...patience is a must but sometimes we have to set aside our patience to defend ourselves as we have our own dignity and worth as a person to protect our rights.

Yes, I would. If it was verbal, then I would fight back verbally. If physically, then you bet I'm going to fight back. Now if it was just someone being stupid saying mean thing, I would probably ignore them, unless it was a regular thing, then I would take them down a couple notches. If someone hurt me physically however, there is no way I can let them get away with that. No one has the right to hurt you and get away with it and you have every right to fight back.
