I think water does have a taste, as I can definitely taste something as I'm drinking it. However, I can't really name the flavor... it's just kinda "water" flavor, I guess.

Water does have a flavor, depending on what's in it.

My house is on well water, and it tastes a little bit like minerals, sometimes it even has the faint smell of sulphur (which isn't very pleasant but it's not part of the taste). I am used to it and I don't think it tastes bad, personally I like the flavor of our water.

I understand what people mean when they talk about disliking the taste of water- Some city water I've had has the scent of chemicals and some has even felt a little bit slimy.

My auntie had a house in Northern BC and her tap water was directly from a glacier runoff (so lucky) and it was amazing. I've never had water that good anywhere else. Compare your average treated city water with water from a glacier or a spring and you will be blown away how good it tastes.

Water can be tasteless, but for someone who loves and drinks water several times on a daily basis like myself....water starts to have a distinct taste. I use to say it tastes like grape or citrus, now it's as you said "hard to describe." Overall, water is good for your health and skin.

Annette : I agree with this actually, the water at my friends house tastes a lot nice then the water at mine, don't really trust the water from our taps for some reason always get mineral water in and some makes of Water especially Evian have their own taste.

Oh fresh spring water or glacial water tastes SO good!

Water is water flavored. It is very hard to describe, but really good water comes across as very crisp and clean, and that is really all I can describe it as.

We have well water as well, though what we drink runs through a Pur filter so it doesn't taste as minerally. I honestly love the taste of water most of the time.

well tap water certainly has a taste,which i generaly dont like.bottled water CAN taste all right sometimes(in my opinion obviously)i cant be sure but i think its the fluorine they put in the tap water i dont like.it may kill bacteria and benefit your teeth but still...

I loath city water, any non well or spring water I don't like.  Since I used to live in the city I never really liked to drink water, but when I moved in with my step mom I have become a water junkie!  All I have to do is run the water on cold for a few seconds then I get a perfect glass of water every time!  I also love drenching myself in it every night before bed.  Drenching myself in cold water is always so relaxing~  

Textures of water also can affect taste like if it's too hard or too soft.  Soft water will taste slimy and hard water will taste like iron or dry your mouth out.  Even though I love our water, I still can't use it for my pills.  I find most waters tend to dry my mouth out so the pills get stuck.  It drives my step mom nuts that I have to have juice or soda to take my pills.
