In your opinion, who is the greatest NFL football player of all time?  Please explain why you think that player is the best.  Also don't argue with anybody else's opinion unless it's incredibly stupid.
In my opinion Jerry Rice because he has broke a lot of records and was an outstanding wide receiver.

Brett Favre can be the greatest QB of all time, and he is my favorite for being a former Packer

This is a hard question to answer because every position has its own unique requirements, so it really should deal with best player at each position. However, for me it would have to be Legendary WR Jerry Rice.

According to the NFL Channel it's Jerry Rice but I think it should be Joe Montana.

I prefer to lean Lawrence Taylor's way, because what he did as a linebacker was amazing and defensive players are always underrated, causing others to think that they are not as good as, say, Brett Farve.

I would have to disagree with David and go with Jerry Rice. I think that he is one of the best players if not the best player of all time.

I would agree that it should be best for every position, not as a hole. I would say the best WR is Jerry Rice.

In my opinion, the best QB ever was Terry Bradshaw. He won 4 super bowls in 6 years and threw 9 touchdown passes in those 4 super bowls.
He was named MVP in 2 of those 4 super bowls.

How many QBs have 4 superbowl rings, I think only 2 (maybe 3)but the Patriots QB might get a 4th ring soon....
but they have to go through the steel curtain to get there =p

smbisme : Super Bowl rings don't make a QB good. Dan Marino was a better QB than Terry Bradshaw, and he never won a Super Bowl. The Steelers won because of their defense...Terry Bradshaw was a good QB, but he could make a lot of mistakes that would get covered up by that defense. He only threw 2 more Touch Downs in his entire career than interceptions. He only got selected to the Pro-Bowl 3 times during his entire career.

trouble982 : There are many greats of the NFL I agree but when it comes down to it stats dont matter its weather you win or lose.
its like if someone threw a 99 yard touchdown pass for a win. It may be luck it may be skill but it still counts as a win.

And its all about opinion anyway so there's nothing you or I could say to change our minds.

I think the way the steelers are now that Roethlisberger could get 4 or more rings he already has 2 and hes only 29 so he still has a good 5 years or more if not injured severely. Terry Bradshaw thinks Roethlisberger will be better than him if he continues the way he is.
