When I was growing out my afro (which turned out wonderful by the way), I went 2 and a half years (30 months) with out a haircut, but ultimately I shaved it all off because it was way to hard to take care of. (I don't recommend it, cause no matter how much you wash it... it always feels like you haven't.)
