Just like my brother Googler123 we had lost our dog a couple of years ago when we had to sadly put her down because she was blind deaf and could barely walk anymore. We were both devastated because we had grown up with her.

Yes, we had to cremate an old yellow lab we had since she died. Then my parents awhile ago decided it was time to get rid of a cat that I loved and lived with for eight years. Then once she was gone they told me they let her out at the state park and was probably coyote chow after that.

I've loved all my pets over the years, including that stupid hamster that we couldn't keep in his cage and we ended up changing his name to Harvey the Wonder Hamster.

I've lost two cats, two dogs, a couple of hamsters and a fish that I actually was very sorry to see go-usually I don't get emotionally attached to my fish (they swim in the water and ignore you...what's the point?) but this one I'd had for a long time and he used to come to the top of the bowl when I tapped it. (He was looking for food, but it was still a response, ok?)

The hardest one was my cat Rufus; I had him from the minute he was born (literally) and he got sick and was in a lot of pain. I had to have him put to sleep, and I was there with him, petting him and talking to him, as he died. It was really rough, and I still miss him a lot.

I had a dog named Nina, we were going on a trip and left her at home with our neighbor, she later ran away and we never saw her again, I think she died while running away, Its sad because I never dug her grave, I was far away in America while she was back home in Asia. Now I always beg my parents for another dog but all I get is fishes who dies after a few weeks.

hilacle : That is sad to hear about how your dog ran away. One of my dogs did hat a few years ago when I was at work and man let me tell you I was crushed because when I was driving home in my neighborhood I saw that he had been hit by a car.

Lots of sad stories here. Sorry for all those who've lost pets. I've lost 2, I think. A dog and a cat. The dog just was really old, and sick. One night, it just died. That was sad.

Our cat dislocated it's hip, and broke the same leg. We decided to put her down instead of paying for surgery. Ah, that's life.

I had a cat that was injured and we cared for it, but two years ago it disappeared, probably by a coyote.
I had another cat that my parents had since before I was born, so it was older than me.  Well, it had heart problems, and we had to put it to sleep, not 6 months after the other cat disappeared...It was extremely tragic.
