Should vizzed add a room for modern games? The games of course wouldn't be playable but to have game pages for games of systems such as Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, etc would be pretty cool. This wouldn't be something we do any time soon but it'd be cool to be able to download files from these games, get walkthroughs or cheat codes, see info and screenshots, submit a review or rate the game or look at other user reviews and ratings, talk about them, and link threads with these games.

I would be in favor of this addition! Sure we may not be able to play, but anything we can do that makes the site bigger and can appeal to more people, the better... How long would it take to put one up?

legacyme3 : I'd probably start on it in a few months and I'd probably have to hire 1 person per a system, especially newer systems that are still making games because I'd want games to be added to the 'Vizzed Game Room' as soon as they're released, along with info added. I'd probably also want people to write up reviews for games. Of course all users would be able to rate and review the games but I'd like professional staff reviews for a lot of the games. In other words, I'd need a lot of RGR staff for this lol.

Overall though, this would drive even more traffic to the site because it'd keep the awesome structure of the Retro Game Room with the advanced image search engine and the all in 1 game page structure. The more pages the site has, the better, especially if it's content on newer stuff.

I think it's an awesome idea, I vote favour it! And since you're getting more work for yourself I have another suggestion (offer them a hand, they'll ask you for the whole arm ). I always thought Vizzed should have a room for walktroughs and cheats (for any system, not only modern ones), they could be submitted by the members themselves, along w/ the reviews (I know you want professional reviews, that would be great, but I also value a good written review made by the ordinary gamer). I think that maybe someone that's looking for WT's and cheat codes could end up here and becoming a good member

Also, I think that it would be nice if the board had a room for players to post their own games, made w/ RPG maker or any other game maker. I remember some newbies asked me about it, so I think it would worth a try. Or, if allowing people to post their game here would demand more bandwidth, a room in which people could post images and a small description for their games plus a link to download it from a external source like 4shared (could I make myself clear? I think some sentences are a little odd...)

flambeau : A lot of RGR games have cheats but yeah I definitely plan to add walkthroughs eventually. And I do eventually plan to make the user review submissions bigger so that they stick out more and so users can write bigger and more serious reviews.

Letting users submit their own games is an idea I've though about, I may do that in the future.

Which game do you speak of? Fanister's Island?

But I remember it's a platform game and that it takes place in a kind of forest. There's a phase when stone's keeping falling down from the upper part of the screen. And I also remember you mentioned the game wasn't finished yet and that we could not loose lives (it became negative instead). This is a feature I didn't like much, but I'm assuming that it is due to the fact that the game is not finished yet. Why you are asking for the game name, do you have more games available to trial? I would love to test them. If you read it - and if you don't mind - could you post that page address? I would like to come back there.

I do not remember if it's the same page (see, I'm not a very organized person) but I have also visited a page in which we had to walk w/ a character to access page options, it was an amazing idea. Something like "how came anyone thought on this before?". I guess that page linked to RPG Maker games (not sure). I hadn't time to test those games, though

Basically a site I made which requires you to navigate like a video game. In the Games building you can download RPG Maker 95 games, the Fanisters Island game is an RPG I made so many years ago lol.

Davideo7 : I think it's an excellent idea! Even if you couldn't download the games, having a place to check out info and discuss the games would be cool. I myself probably wouldn't spend a ton of time on there (I'm more of a Retro game fanatic), but I imagine that many people would utilize that tool, causing Vizzed to expand its influence and reach.

PS : I noticed we're approaching 100,000,000 views! It's really exciting to see that meter go up so much every day, although I know most of the traffic is probably by members.

I think it's a great idea, it would add more to the website. Vizzed is already an awesome place, with modern games, i can't describe! I'm new ( i know, i know ) and just seeing these games i was like '' Yeah! Finally! '' If you put more games, you will give heart attack to future news! xD

I like the idea but I think you need to be careful to make sure people understand that we don't have these games but simply are providing info on them. I think there will be a lot of confused and disappointed people joining looking for these new games playable online and it turns out they're not actually here.

Centainetly! This would be awesome. It WOULD drive even more traffic to the site, as say somebody searched for "PS3 Reviews" or something like that, and came to our site? I know we're not as high in search engine ratings as say, IGN or GameSpot, but we'd at least be higher up.

I think that's a great idea. Vizzed can be just like IGN but cooler.

oh okay... I wasn't totally clear on how it was going to work so I wanted to make sure it was going to be separate.... cause I could a LOT of angry people if it looked like it was part of the RGR but the games weren't actually there.

I got a few ideas related to this.

1. Creating the new room would definitely be a good idea because it would be more fun. People keep asking for newer games. This way, they can't get the games, but gamers can still chat about the games, people can ask whether games are worth buying or not, and people can get advice on what games to try next based on what they like.

2. I think it's probably a lot more complicated than I realize, but it would probably be fun if Vizzed could run an online computer game network through the system. Nothing like WoW. I was thinking more related to the StarCraft network/online battles. The battles would just run through Vizzed (as a network), so it would be easier for Vizzed players to find each other. StarCraft is a newer game compared to Super Mario Bros., so I figured it would be okay to post this here.

3. Would you ever allow other users to write a walkthrough, then submit it to a staff member for approval? That could get walkthroughs set up for each game faster than having the staff play each game start to finish. Walkthroughs came up in a previous post so I thought I'd include this.

I know you've said a lot that you've already got a ton of work. I'm just throwing out suggestions. There's no urgency behind them.

I think they should.It would be awsome also to play the games that need plug-ins without having to have them.

ronaldo7 : That's not at all what this thread is about. This is about adding a room full of FAQ's,cheats, and Walkthroughs on Modern Games.

About the plugin comment, it's impossible not to have them, because the plug in has emulators on them that let you play the game, plus your computer wouldn't be able to handle the graphics of the N64 and the GBA. The plug in is there for a reason, so you'll have to deal with it, or don't play the games at all. Sorry for coming off a bit harsh, but it's the truth.
