I came here looking for Chrono Trigger. I then played Castlevania, 8 eyes, and then it snowballed.  I even tried a lot of the Pokémon games to see what the hype was about. (I'm a little to old to have been the target audience when they came out.) Just recently I began posting. I avoid most boards/forums because people tend to be rude. I have never seen anyone on here called a "noob".
Davideo7 : I've wanted an opportunity to thank you for what you've done here and this is the perfect time. I've read some flack that you and your Moderators get sometimes for banning people. However, I love the sense of respect and common courtesy the members have for each other here. I have never seen it anywhere else on the Internet and I believe that its something you have deliberately cultivated. If it were not for this, I would just be an anonymous member of the RGR.
This site is an outlet for me when life gives me a little down time. My 15month old goes down for a nap? Time for a little Earthbound! 12 hours working at the restaurant? Got crushed on a busy Friday night dinner service and to wired to go to sleep? Final Fantasy Tactics.
Anyway, thanks for this site. Thanks everyone for being awesome. I look forward to contributing to this community more.
Michael

IronBars : Thanks for the compliments
It's rare to see a forum community which is layed back, friendly and welcoming but that's something I definitely try to pull off with vizzed.

Over the years in my childhood, I accumulated over a couple hundred games for NES, SNES, and Game Boy. There were some I really wanted, but could only find them for rent. But when my brother left, I let him take my NES with him along with the games so his kids could play them when they were old enough. When I left home, I let my little brother keep my SNES so he could continue playing them, as well as my Game Boy so he had games to play on long trips like I did (after my parents divorce, we couldn't afford to get him his own game systems). That left me with my modern systems. It didn't take long for my to wish I had them back. I searched for years for a way to play them again. When I found this, I was so happy because it was like I got all my games back as well as any that I loved, but couldn't find. Thank you!

I have never been able find a site full of staff who are this dedicated to keeping it friendly and welcoming. Every site or game world I have been a part of, I quit because I got tired of the moronic people who are rude, intolerant, and mean. Thank you for making a community that you have managed to keep so friendly for the amount of time that it has been up.

Making me a staff member has also helped me. I love talking about old games that many haven't played. Making me a game reviewer has given me a chance to  do that. I love to find games that I loved that most haven't heard of just so I can share it.

rcarter2 : I think a lot of people can relate to what you said in some ways.  Many members on this site probably once owned retro games that they no longer own and would love to re-experience the games that they grew up playing.

Vizzed... so much to say about the site and I've only been here for three months. This might take a while, so take a seat, sit back, and relax. x3

Well, I found Vizzed back in June when I was looking for N64 games that I could play online. I didn't want a whole emulator, and my friend told me of a place where you could play NES games online, so I just thought there might be the same one but with N64 games. So after a few Google searches, I happened to stumble across this wonderful little site called Vizzed. To be honest, my first impression of the RGR was that it was a bit messy, but I was able to navigate it just fine.

So when I first came across the site, I couldn't believe what I saw when it said N64 games free to play legally. After a quick RGR plugin download (no problems, thank goodness), I busied myself with the awesome games on the site.

Of course, that's only half the story. After just a few days, I found out this place happened to have a forum. And fortunately, there was a newbie thread, so I posted there to introduce myself. I had no idea how active this board was, but I got a ton of friendly replies to my newbie thread right away. It made me feel right at home here. It gave me the encouragement to start posting a lot too.

...You know what, I'm just going to save the backstory for my 1 year thread. If you want to know the rest, wait until June next year. x3

So what Vizzed did for me was, first of all, reintroduce me to classic games that I played when I was younger but haven't been able to play since then. Many of them were SNES and N64 games. It's also introduced me to completely new games that I've absolutely loved. You can see some examples of these like Panel de Pon in the games I've reviewed and given high scores to.

Of course, Vizzed would be nothing without the awesome people that hang out at the board here. I've made a ton of friends here in just a few months. In just a short time, they've made me feel like I've been here forever, when in reality I've only been here for a little over 100 days. There isn't a minute that goes by in the day when I'm not thinking about them.

Vizzed also gave me my first online "job," that is, reviewing and screenshotting games. It's quite the experience being staff of a popular website, and a bit different from doing assignments at school. The reason I say so is with this, a lot of people are looking at your work and you're not really being "graded," whereas school is the opposite of that. I think it's something you understand when you're in a position like me. >w<

And then there's a lot of miscellaneous stuff I've gotten from Vizzed. I've learned how to expand my sentences by throwing in random words to get more Viz. I've learned how often trolls show up online and what to do with them. It's helped me on my speed posting and typing skills (but I guess that applies to the Internet in general). And then a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember to mention right now.

So yeah, that's pretty much all I've got to say about Vizzed. Thanks so much to David for making this site possible, and I hope it continues to prosper in the years to come, in both the RGR and the forums.

I'll add a new testimony.

Vizzed has helped me learn to enjoy myself and the people around me.

This is my first forum, and this place generally prepared me for other forums (where I am active), all while keeping a small feel to it.

The site may look huge, but in reality there aren't a ton of posters in the forum. The attraction is the RGR, but the substance is the forum. Come for games, stay for chats.

The people here are generally nice, and have helped me become a little more social. Before this site I never really had many friends. It's no substitute for the real world, but it's a nice hangout.

I have become a completely different person since when I started. I credit most of it to Vizzed and I think it is great.

This place has affected me in so many ways in the about 2 years I've been here.
