History vs. Discovery Channel - Which do you prefer to watch?

Both are great channels I don't think I could favor one over the other.

Very compelling. I love them both, but I'm stuck between "They Both suck! And you suck too septembern for making this thread!!" for it's hilarity, and "Discovery" because it's a bit more favorable to my likings.

But I'll go with Discovery, because of Mythbusters, How It's Made, Cash Cab, and Daily Planet.

I prefer the history channel.... I would rather learn about things that have happened in the past than hear tree huggers tell me I'm ruining the planet. Plus I find a lot of the stuff they have is more interesting than discovery.

This was a difficult choice for me. I loved both growing up but now they both have such horrible programming. I went with the History channel because it has more interesting specials most of the time. Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs are cool, but not enough to get me to switch away from a good history show.

Don't have TV but if I had to pick I would go with History channel. When there is nothing on TV the history channel has got something you probably don't know

But history channel is nothing compared to AMC!

This is gotta be one of the easiest questions ever posed to me. I hate learning the minute details of history so much it might be considered a phobia. But aminals are cool so is cash cab, mythbusters has gotten old but had it time. Discovery all the way.

I had the chance to watch a few programs of both of them. I think that history channel is more interesting, at least for me, because I'm more interested in those topics. But Discover has myth busters, so this gives it an advantage, lol
So, I would say both of them.

septembern : Both Discovery and The History Channel are very good and educational networks as are their respective spin-off channels. I don’t have a preference for one over the other but I do find myself watching the Biography network often as I enjoy crime stories and such. All three channels are very informative and offer good programming for all ages so I feel that gives all three merit.

I'd have to vote "none of the above", since I dislike both channels but know for a fact that septembern doesn't suck...

Anyway, if I'm wanting to watch something edumacational, I opt for PBS. The Discovery and History channels are too... cinematic for me. They go for the awe effect rather than sticking to intellectualism, and that bothers me. Most of the shows watch more like movie previews than education. I can't stand to watch it.

I was going to vote for history but I clicked on discovery.
Anyway I never paid much mind to the discovery channel.
Plus I like history allot more. I don't have to try to remember history at least.
Besides they have some interesting things on there.

I'd have to go with the History Channel for more intellectually stimulating programs, and the Discovery for entertainment. Overall, I'd have to go with Discovery, because if you enjoy watching the program, you tend to retain the info better.
