I do quite a bit, when I have something to say that's too big for the chatbar, when I sell a layout, some warnings, and a few other things. I never do, unless I have a message and the person isn't on, the Chat Bar is much better. I don't have to wait to get a reply, instead it's much quicker and much more productive. |

I use them a fair bit still. It's much easier to deal with people via pm after banning them rather than having them chat live on the chat bar.

It depends on the situation. If I have to warn somebody, I prefer PMs, like geeogree. Because I think it makes the whole thing more "official".
Also I use them, when I'm not in the mood of chatting a lot, or when the other person is busy or offline at that time. Besides since I became staff, I have 1 PM, at least, daily. And I reply them through PM too, so I guess I use PMs very often. But when I need to deal with an issue faster and the other person is online too, I pick prive chat.
