What do you think about parody religions, such as The Invisible Pink Unicorn, The Flying Spaghetti Monster, and Star Trek?

Not only is this offensive to the real religions, but it breaks the Christian first commandment:
You shall have no other gods before me

I have never known Star Trek to be a parody religion. I actually like that show a lot. I think any religion is wrong.

Oh ok. I think I understand it more now. I think if you put anything before God in your life, than that is the same and a sin.

Well even though you don't think it, christianity is a religion as well.
"Religion is the belief in and worship of a god or gods, or any such system of belief and worship"
Argue it all you like, but it is what it is.

Honestly, if it doesn't hurt anyone why cant others just leave people alone to beleive what they want to?
If they are wrong and you are right then they get punished anyways, so why not let them live out their lives in peace.

If you find things like those parodies offensive then you probally need to damn well lighten up and stop taking yourself so seriously.
So long as you are following your edict, why get so bent out of shape about what others think.

Anyway, I think these "parody religions" are pretty ridiculous... but I can never really tell if the things like the "flying spaghetti monster" are trying to offend religion or they're seriously practicing it.

And if you are wrong and they are right then you effectively doomed them if they convert.
Because you might think that you are doing the right thing and it would be to their benefit, but it might not be.
It's a very tricky subject in itself that is, because it isnt up to you or I to say which religion is right, even if you think yours is.

Umm yes it does, alot of religions say "follow us or you will suffer" so if you are wrong you will indeed suffer.

alexanyways : Star Trek isnt a religion, Trekkies dont "worship" Star Trek.
They enjoy it, but not worship it. Even the extreme ones that dress up just wish they could be a part of that reality, it doesnt make them "worshippers", just fans (maybe deluded ones, but still just fans).
Just because you enjoy something and follow it to the extent that it takes up your life doesnt mean you worship it.

How is having a parody religion offensive to yours? Are they not allowed to have their own religion? You said "You shall have no other gods before me" meaning "YOU" not others so you should not worry about what other people believe in else your kinda giving into their god existing which means you are basically putting other gods before yours.

If they are christians sucks for them cause they are sinning, if not they why worry about them they are doing nothing wrong

You can say all you like things like "religion is a hobby, while christianity is real" but that is not the real definition, only yours.
And notice the word "probally"? That wasn't saying "you should do this" just "you should think about doing this".

On the subject of parody religions, did you know that alot of religions were formed under the same or similar premises?
For example, the hillsong group was made for the sole purpose of making money.
This isn't something I made up, it was said by the guy who made the church to his daughters husband, who just happens to go to University with Solehite.
In comparison the parody religions are alot better as from what I have seen they use any donations to educate people in science.

Alot better then some other churches that send starving people bibles rather then send them food as well.

Yeah, I think that this has spanned enough controversy, and I think that this should be closed, I had a recent change or mind and I think that I am a little more open minded, hopefully.
