Primeape's abilities are similar to those of its pre-evolution, Mankey, only stronger. When Primeape becomes furious, its blood circulation is boosted. In turn, Primeape's muscles are made even stronger. However, it also becomes much less intelligent at the same time.

Q: Quagsire!
Unfortunately, these Q Pokemon don't have much trivia .

* Quagsire's Crystal Pokédex entry states that it doesn't care if it bumps its head, but its phrases in Mystery Dungeon state it saying it will try not to bump its head.
* Quagsire's Pokédex entry from Ash's Pokédex in Once in a Blue Moon states that Quagsire live in fresh, clean, drinkable water but in Generation IV games Quagsire appear in the Great Marsh and Route 212, a marshy area.

It's tail is used as a brush to mark it's territory.

Although not very powerful, it excellent speed.

It has an ability that prevents it form getting confused

Even though it only knows sketch, it can copy moves to create an advantage for smeargle.

U is for Unknown!
Special abilities

Unown's only known move in battle is the enigmatic Hidden Power.

In the anime, they are capable of reading the thoughts of other lifeforms. Great numbers of them are capable of warping reality to suit the dreams and wishes of whoever they read the thoughts of and is in control of the Unown.

Their mind reading ability seems to suggest that they should be able to learn Mind Reader. However, they can only do this when more Unown are present, so it could be a shared effort rather than an ability unique to each Unown.

Different forms

Unown has 28 different forms, one for each letter of the alphabet, as well as '!' and '?'. These are chronicled in the Unown Dex in Generation II and the Unown Notebook in HeartGold and SoulSilver. The '!' and '?' forms were not introduced until Generation III.

Physiology

Unown are floating, flat, eye-shaped Pokémon with appendages that make them resemble letters. They are black all over.

Unreleased Unown

* In Spell of the Unown, Professor Oak had some pictures of unreleased Unown on his computer. They resemble a few Greek alphabet letters, especially σ (lowercase sigma), Σ (capital sigma), Π (pi) and Ω (omega). However, lowercase letters have never been made into Unown before, so this may be an error or a misinterpretation by fans. The top-middle Unown may be also a variation of an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, the Eye of Horus, or the Russian letter Я (ya). This may lead to the conclusion that there are more forms of Unown, being the prototypes of other known (or unknown) alphabets.
o It is, however, possible that the creators of the carvings drew Unown in the form of other letters and symbols, even if actual living equivalents did not exist.
* Unown apparently generate a radio
signal where they are found in large numbers, which can be listened to by any Trainer with a PokéGear.
* In the third movie, Molly Hale owned a book that had Unown on the cover of it.
* It is the first non-legendary to be in a central role in a Pokémon movie.
* Unown, Nidorina, Nidoqueen, and Ditto are the only non-legendary, non-baby Pokémon that cannot breed with Ditto.
* Despite being in the book of legendary Pokémon, Unown is not considered a legendary Pokémon.
* The two punctuation Unown have half-closed eyes; all alphabetic Unown have fully open eyes.
* If a player does not have Unown's Pokédex data on a Generation II game when in Oak's lab in Pokémon Stadium 2, Unown's Pokédex number is listed as 252 instead of 201. This happens regardless of which Pokédex display mode is selected.
* It has the smallest movepool of all Pokémon, learning only one move, Hidden Power, and being unable to learn any other moves through TMs, HMs, and Pokémon breeding (as it cannot breed). It shares this distinction with Ditto, and Smeargle, however they can potentially expand their movepools through the use of Transform and Sketch respectively.
* Despite having their own movie about their power, they are relatively weak in the games due to a very shallow move pool.
o Their power of warping reality is barely acknowledged in the games. Only the Pokédex data in Pokémon Platinum even hints to their power, saying that "an odd power is said to emerge" when two or more are together. Nothing special occurs when two Unown are sent out side by side in a double battle, however.
* Generation II is the only Generation in which all Unown have their own separate animations. Consequently, Unown ? (question mark) and ! (exclamation mark) never experience this because in all following generations, the Unown share the same animations.

Origin

Their appearances are corruptions of the modern Latin alphabet. The shapes of the Unown are used like runes in the Pokémon world, although in Generation III their place has been taken by Braille.

Unown's name is a corruption of the word unknown.

* Vespiquen is the only non-Poison-type Pokémon that can learn Toxic by leveling up.
* Vespiquen's three signature moves, along with Hitmonlee (in Gen I only), the Porygon family, and the Cubone family (prior to Gen IV) comprise the most out of all Pokémon.
* Vespiquen is the only Bug-type Pokémon that has Pressure as its ability.

Y is for: Yanmega!
Yanmega and its pre-evolution, Yanma, are the only Pokémon whose names begin with the letter Y.
Yanmega has the highest base Special Attack stat, as well as the highest base stat total, of any Bug-type Pokémon.
Yanmega is the largest Bug-type Pokémon.
Yanmega is the last Bug-type Pokémon in National Pokédex order as of Generation IV.
In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Yanmega is said to spit gooey silk. However, it's unable to learn String Shot naturally.
Its Platinum Pokédex entry suggests that it uses physical moves, however, its Special Attack stat is higher than its Attack stat.

*Chikorita is very sentimental!
*You shouldn't mess with it's feelings!
*Should be loved with caution(Don't squish it while while you're sleeping with it)
*The Chikorita family is the only evolution family of a starter Pokémon to not have their names changed for the English release.
*In the anime, Chikorita has had the most Trainers out of the Johto starters. It has been trained by Ash, Casey, Vincent, Silver, and Lyra. However, Ash is the only one who is confirmed to not have received Chikorita as a starter.
*Chikorita is the tallest out of the unevolved starters at 2 feet 11 inches (0.9 meters).
-Due to this, it is the only starter Pokémon from Generations I-III that cannot be used in the Pokémon Jump minigame.
*In Pokémon Gold and Silver, Chikorita's body was yellow. It was changed to being light green in Pokémon Crystal to match its official artwork.
