The thing I got this year is a brand new video capture card so I can stream some Nintendo Switch games on here (I know I already stated this). And it's something I'm extremely happy with.

I actually got a Blender from a White Elephant gift this year! I kinda needed a new one and have been pretty much using it since the day I got it. I also got some clothing too which is pretty nice. Nothing to special or spectacular, but I'm still glad I got something.

Well, most of my own money went towards my brother and niece so I only really spent $25 dollars on my own self....A Blu-Ray DVD that I can't even play on my PS3 for some reason. Other than what I got for myself, I was gifted a $50 amazon gift card which while there isn't much would desire right now (after DVD issue) I can always save it up for prime or otherwise. There is a soundtrack CD I'd like but is cheaper on Ebay so again, no use. Not to say am unhappy but just what I'd like isn't avaliable or is not anything that sticks out to me as "ooohh I needs it!!! < 3"

So rounding it all together it be like this for Christmas:

"Me = $50 gift card/ (My own $$) - Avatar Blu-Ray DVD $25

"Gift to my brother = $85 Bass Guitar + $8 3 year protection plan, and $43 for Rocksmith 2014 Remastered Game (PS4). Total = $136 "

"Gift to my 3 year old niece = $200 gifted to Older brother as they were going Christmas shopping that same evening for her. "

"Gift to my Parents|Somewhat still unplanned" My mom = $25-$50 Amazon Card, My father = Taking him out anywhere for Christmas/New Years whenever our work schedules are free. No price setting or $$ = N/A.

Basically Almost $400 on rest of family and $25 again on myself and gifted $50 that's on hold atm. A lot of people tell me I need to spend more on myself....Idk..do you agree? (seriously though I never really do so as typically save up more than use besides essentials)

I got some snacks, some dinosaurs, some condiments, and Avengers Socks. As well as some nice shirts, like a Breaking Bad one.

They're nice, but I'm more interested in the giving part of Christmas, even though Amazon kinda let me down on a couple gifts. I just hope others are fine with what I got them.

I got a lot of clothes from different family members as well as some weird Bluetooth earbuds I've never seen before as well as a portable speaker along with 50$ from my grandma. My mom is where most of my presents I ask for come from tho she really went all out this year for some reason I kinda wondered why she needed a 2nd job for Christmas but she really went all out I got a Ohio State hoodie and an Ohio state wallet with 20$, Final Fantasy X/X2 Remastered, A Hat in Time, Super Mario Maker 2, and my biggest wish of the year Dragon Ball Z Kakarot preordered. I would have to be the biggest brat on the planet to complain after the Christmas my mom went and got everything and more on my wish list tho I can say one thing that is my own fault is I didn't take into account that most of the games I asked for I wouldn't feel like playing currently so I still am kinda bored. xD

Nothing. Haven't gotten anything for well over 5 years now. The last gift I received was a broken marker from a classmate because he forgot to get me something for our class' secret santa game.

I guess the whole giving presents culture just isn't a thing where I live for the most part. People tend to just stroll through one of many Christmas markets and then go and have a good dinner with close family. Religious people go to church. You send and receive a couple of Christmas cards.

Of course little kids still get presents but once you hit that teenager phase at 12-13 years old it just stops if you don't have anymore younger siblings. I still occasionally got some money from a few relatives as a teen but I don't really view that as a Christmas gift.

I've had this discussion with a friend recently actually. Whenever I mention this people often start feeling bad or say I'm missing out and all of that. To an extent they're right I guess but I don't know any different. My biggest concern is that I have next to no experience going out and buying people presents. If there is ever a situation in my life where I want to buy someone a gift, which I'm sure there will be, I genuinely have no clue what I'm supposed to do. I'm worried that I'll either be a letdown for getting something not "on par" with other people or that I'll get too much. Also no clue what I'm supposed to do when I get a gift myself, I'm always worried people think I'm disappointed because I'm not the kind of person to get all giddy and excited when opening a gift, even though I actually feel happy about it.

Anyway yeah, just a cultural thing I suppose.

I didn't exactly get gifts per say but did get some nice doohickeys. I was treated to a few nice meals from places like IHOP and Southwest Moes, and I haven't gone to IHOP in a long time.

The big thing that I got was a special discount for movies, and I love movies so i loved this offer. I only had to pay $25 and I got 19 good movies and the 1st season of Sherlock.

A lot of the movies were relatively new too such as Spider-Man: Far From Home, Hobbs and Shaw, Detective Pikachu, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Abominable, and King of the Monsters.

Normally I'd be paying $10-20 each if I went to a place like Target or Best Buy for them.

I didn't get many presents on Christmas beyond some trivial, though always useful, things. I did put my pajama to good use when I stayed out for my lover's birthday, so they were indeed useful.

The big presents came today, on a local holiday we have. We also make a more special celebration, so that's why I waited for this date. I did get trivial things like clothes again, which I'll put to good use, but the big star was my new cellphone.

My old one just made today 6 years, and its giving signs of its old age (the charger doesn't fit in at times, the battery acts weirdly and lasts for a short time...). Unfortunately, my current size of SIM card doesn't fit, so I'll have to wait a couple days to fully change into the new model.

By the way, the new model is a Xiaomi MI 9. The difference in size compared to my first-gen HTC One Mini is noticeable, so it'll take me some time to get used to it. I also have the feeling it will fall off my hands quite a few times during this adaptation of mine, so I'll play safe and protect it from possible harm.

I got a new phone which I've really been enjoying and I love it to bits, some makeup (only really lipstick stuff), I got dragon quest 11 which I've really been looking forward to playing (when I finally get around to playing it that is), I got Gucci perfume for the first time which I'm really happy about and it came with some hand cream too which I didn't even know they did but you learn a new thing every day I guess and Christmas socks which I probably won't wear until next Christmas at this rate. Although even though it wasn't a gift per say I would say that my favourite present would be getting to meet and hold my baby nephew for the first time.

I got a ton of screwdrivers and other things, this is because I am getting into refurbishing consoles and all that. So all in all it saves me a bit of money.
