I never got to watch this movie in the cinema but I got it on amazon instead and now its mine forever to watch. when I firsted watched it I was screaming most of the time out of excitment. I really love the live action movie why? because they did it right! not a lot of disney live action movies are good. but also with the epcetion of cinderella and beauty and the beast those two movies were also amazing. I've watched the orginal animation in my childhood years many times so I knew what I was expecting but the live action exceeded my expertations. I want to know if you enjoyed it or disliked it. this is an open thread ther will be people who didnt like the film for one reason or another. but I say the majority does love the live action of aladdin.

Personally, I haven't really watched the 2019's Aladdin, but I have watch the old 1992 Aladdin back when I was little on VHS, and it was quite an interesting movie back then, and that was during the time that Disney had a huge popularity surge in the terms of home movies. I haven't really got a chance to watch the 2019's Aladdin.

Eniitan : To be perfectly honest, for as much as I really enjoyed the Animated version of Aladdin back in the 90's I really can't hold myself to watch the Live Action version. As I see it, the same can be said with all the new Disney live action movies.

I feel like they fail to capture the essence of the original movies and at most are a blunder on what otherwise is some of Disney's most memorable classics. They're cash grabs at best and that seems to be how they treat them which sucks but that's the reality of them all. Don't let my opinion take away from how you see it, but you're better off getting the original Movies instead of buying for something so lifeless.

I enjoyed parts of Aladdin. The Animation, as expected, is superb for almost all of the film, minus a few smears. However, I don't like this film as much because of the slight controversy with The Thief and The Cobbler, another animated film which, from what I heard, had some of the same people from Aladdin working on it. The fact that film suffered a takeover by what is now a subsidiary of Disney, Miramax, and I simply can't see the film in good light. Still, again, I enjoyed parts of it, but I wouldn't frequently watch it again and again, except maybe for the special features on the DVD.

...Oh wait, this is for the live-action remake. Dangit.

The_IB122 : Ah I see. I think you should give the live action ago you might like it. or not XD

Slyshiyoshi : Sly. I am going to be very honest with you ok? I understand what you are saying belive me I do I only go and watch the live actions that are worth watching. I havent watched all others such as the lion king I hate that live action and dumbo. its fine to love the orginal I love them but...times are changing so I am trying to live with that. there will be people who will continue to make live ation out of certain popular films of back in the day. and I think you should give it a try. I think you may like alddin its not as lifeless as you may think it is.

TouchMaster97 : Thats fine not many people would like the animation. I aplogise I should had put in live action in the heading as well.

Eniitan : Believe me, agree to disagree, but I have already watched the Aladdin (And Beauty and the Beast) Live action counterpart and to say that I was unimpressed may be just bias since I grew up with the original films. But to me, what the live action counterparts fail at is recapturing the original film's essence.

I can admire the film for trying to capture it, but that's just it, they shouldn't *need* to try. Regardless of what you say, regardless of times are changing, do we need these remakes? For a younger generation, sure, but for an older audience who have already seen the original films, what is there in point to making them in live action? I think it's missing the point of what they originally meant.

The original films re-birthed a new era of timeless Disney classics which are still highly regarded among the best of the Disney Library to this date. The point to my argument is to say that these films aren't at all necessary and the original films are still great, even amazing. Regardless of the good the Live Action films might be, they're just personally to me ones that pale in comparison to the films they're based on.

Hope I don't sound too negative, I just think that Disney could put their resources into much more original ideas.

Slyshiyoshi : I finally understand. You have watched the film I thought you didnt. you have every right to say what you have to say. dont worry about anything negative. in this world all things cant be postive the negative has to balance that. true most live actions cant capture what the orginal films once had. for me I think there are a few live actions that were able too. but of course the animation was the best and still is. no matter how many times they try to compare that.

Eniitan : I just didn't want to take your enjoyment away from you if you do like the films. Nothing is wrong with that of course, just explaining as a long time Disney Fan why I see it as an inferior product at heart.

Eniitan : You know, whenever I have the time to watch it, I might just give it a watch, probably when it's on one of those streaming services.

I saw it in theaters and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Sure there were some bad aspects but Disney really kicked things up a notch when it came to fun. Loved the choreography for the songs too.

Na,I kinda just refuse to see Will Smith butcher a role that Robin Williams completely nailed the first time. Smith should have just done his own version rather than a rehash but I suppose Disney wants what it wants and he was more than happy to take their money.

I've watched the original Aladdin but I still have yet to watch the live action version. I've been thinking of binging all of the live action Disney remakes I haven't watched yet at some point although who knows when I'll finally get around to doing that. I really enjoyed the original Aladdin so hopefully I'll enjoy this version too!
