I'm officially done hosting the RGR and VGMR Contests. No one participates in them anymore. Some of the contests will go an entire month without a single user. They use to be a big deal on the site with many users competing and they helped make the site feel active and alive. I'll still continue hosting the yearly Netplay Tournaments but probably just the Bomberman one since the others don't get enough users signed up to be worth it

Sorry to hear that nobody has been signing up for the tournaments. I never considered my playing good enough for competition, I don't like to lose . That aside, my internet is slow and my schedule is spotty at best. I am not one to sign up for competitions that I am not absolutely sure I would be able to participate in.

I honestly can't remember ever playing Bomberman, but it sounds like fun to pit my (lack of) skills against better players here in hopes of improving my abilities. I'll be looking forward for the next sign up period and do what I can to clear my schedule.

Such a shame, but it's true that participation was lower and lower as time passed and eventually there was no longer a reason to host them.

Since Minecraft is back up, maybe it can fill the void these competitions will leave on the site. They're not the same as actual on-site competitions, but well, they can be equally fun and challenging.

I can probably take some of the blame for the screenshot competition not getting any competitors. A), I've been busy off and on this month and I didn't want to get into anything like the scavenger hunt without really getting into it like the couple times that I won, and B), I didn't really see the sport in playing in something I might've won by default. I didn't really want the win unless I felt like I earned it.

A little late, but I also recognize now that, had I taken the initiative and started posting at least a few screenshots in there, I might've sparked competition with people who felt the same way. Initiative isn't something I've ever really had, and it's something I'm trying to work on.

Yes, people get busy. I haven't been able to look in and vote on the last few music competitions (and couldn't ever properly participate because after listening to a dozen clips I couldn't tell anymore what was good and what was noise). But just because it wasn't something you personally took the time for doesn't mean it wasn't worth anyone's time. If everyone thought like that we wouldn't have had the Renaissance, we might well still be in the stone age because 'working with ore is pointless'.

Rayman85 : I think you relate pointless to "something that I never did so everybody must hate it" They weren't pointless. Many people used to compete in them and have fun with them like me. Also, I think they were actually something he enjoyed. I don't think he is too hyped to put down something he enjoyed to go and work on the site again for hours. Just my opinion though.

Anyways, really sorry that the rgr competitions dried up. I used to really enjoy some of them. Hope they come back sometime in the future.
