Some people seem very against this idea and I really don't know why. It seems like a very stable job with great benefits... at least in my country. I am currently considering joining my country's military.

I've considered several times joining the military for a variety of reasons, and have come up with few reasons why it would be that bad of an idea, depending on what your intentions and goals are. Currently though, joining the military isn't really an option for me. Could be in the future, but I couldn't right now even if I decided on it.

For a few years I did think of joining the army here in America because I knew that the perks were good and that there were plenty of basic jobs with like computers, writing, and really every day stuff. I wouldn't want to fight but less pretty sureess than 5 percent of the army actually fights. Most of the jobs are the boring mundane stuff.

But I never got around to it.

Only if I got a woman pregnant and desperately needed the money, and couldn't find reasonable employment that would pay enough to support a family.

I just wouldn't be the type who would do well with the military, so I would try to avoid it unless it was that end of the line scenario where if I didn't do it, a child would suffer.

I most definitely would if I could. Not only are the benefits great, but I would personally be proud to serve my country. It may be a very controversial country nowadays but the I would die for the foundation it was laid upon: freedom. Sadly, there's something in my head that won't let me join so oh well.

Only under certain circumstances. I would be willing to join (I wouldn't need to be drafted is what I'm getting at) if it came down to the military needing it, but as we are now I don't see the need to so I would rather work on my own life through school and jobs.

I'm not ashamed of that either, military service is not for everyone. I don't see myself enjoying it nor am I interested in whatever benefits it could give me afterwards. The moment they re-introduce mandatory service I'm dipping, I don't love my country that much hahaha.

I was in the Army 2012-2013 before I hurt my knees and back. If not for that, I would still be in. I was planning on making a career out of it. I had my reasons for joining, mostly because I wasn't getting the scholarships that I thought I would. Before that, I wanted nothing to do with the miliarty because I didn't want to follow in my Dad's footsteps.
Funny how graduating high school and seeing the real world will change your mindset on life.

I have considered it, but I don't really have the physical capabilities to perform well in the military lol. Two of my best friends are actually in the military right now. One is in the Coast Guard, and the other is in the Army, currently training to be a medic. I've thought about it because I have a lot of respect for our military and would like to support our country, but it just isn't for me.
