You know, everyone has their own preference and taste on music such as their favorite music genre, some might like Rock, some might like Hip-Hop/Rap, some might like Country, some might like Jazz, some might like Rhythm & Blues. Someone's personality reflects on their personality.
Anyways, what happens to be your favorite music genre?


For me, My favorite genre happens to be Rock, more pacific, Hard rock, Metal, Rock/Rap hybrid (a.k.a. Nu-Metal). Although 95% of the time I listen to rock, I sometime listen to some rap, like 3% of the time, and 2% of the time happens to be other genres (like Pop, Country, etc.).

Not sure if I could actually list a favorite, because there are several genres I like which I could listen anytime.

My main are Hardcore/Gabber, Hardstyle, early Trance (before it became House-ified), Hands Up and UK Hardcore. The first is a dark and somewhat fast-paced heavy music, the second is a generally softer and more melodic variant of it, and the remaining are quite similar since they're all part of the same "evolution tree", branching from the Dance music of the 90s-early 2000s.

I also listen to Rock, and while it may not be my favorite genre I do have a soft spot for a few bands. Other than that, it's just specific bands with their own signature style or touch that make them stand out from the standard music of their genre(s).

If the music we like says something about our personality, I don't see anything good coming from analyzing this post lol

According to Spotify most of my genres are variations of punk or rock, I'm particularly fond of classic rock and kinda early punk / protopunk stuff. My most listened to genre is probably classic rock though, I love a lot of the stuff from the 60s.

I don't really care much for the genre as much as I do for individual artists. For example, there's a few genres that I hate that I like a few songs of because of makes them.

But for the most part, I like pop, some rock, and pretty much anything that's instrumental and electronic.

For Rock, I like Skillet, Imagine Dragons, and some Three Days Grace but that's all about it for that genre. Same goes for pop.

Other than that, I guess I also like A Capella music but to an extent as well, just a couple different people and groups.

If it's good, the genre doesn't matter. 

I care very much about the melody and music, much less about the lyrics, so some genres, like Rap, aren't as naturally interesting to me. 

The genres I listen to the most are Classical, Traditional Pop (Frank Sinatra style), World (especially african and old-school french), some Blues, some Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, and Folk.

I mostly listen to instrumental or electronic music. I'm don't pay attention to lyrics and I am really bad at remembering them (I know some people who know the lyrics to like 500 songs )

I don't really limit myself to one genre, I just like good music. Most people would be really confused if they looked through my Spotify library because of how diverse it is. The only genre I'm not a huge fan of is country, and I also don't like modern pop music (especially the ones that have the stupid choruses where they repeat one phrase over and over and there's some weird computer-generated sound looping). I'm down for pretty much anything else.

Much like Light Knight, I can't really narrow it down by genre. I almost never retain or even hear lyrics and it's mostly about the instruments. It can be narrowed down to stuff that resonates with me, and stuff that just doesn't click right. Something of a pattern I have noticed is that I generally like stuff that has less common changes in chords and is generally progressively written. I can't really describe it beyond that, but it just feel like there's a common thread between Elder, a progressive stoner rock/doom metal band, Gojira, a progressive meavy metal band, and something really dated like a Bach lute suite. I also like stuff that's kinduh.... jumpy? Can't find the word for it, but something along the lines of traditional Irish jigs and reels and Macedonian Gypsy dances.

I prefer the harder style of metal and rock, especially video game and anime covers that go that harder, edgier route. Some people like FamilyJules and ToxicxEternity are my biggest inspirations for going that route and trying my hand at it myself, which is probably why I like it so much because I can play and perform it better than anything else, making me feel more comfortable with it.

I have a preference for folk somehow, but I also really like funk.
