The Signup for the Summer 2018 Netplay Tournament has been extended by a week. The deadline to sign up is now June 25th instead of June 18th. This is because we don't have nearly enough teams to begin the tournament (only 1 team so far). If anyone is at all interested or knows anyone that might be interested in signing up, refer to the following thread:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=100637

This competition will involve 2 player teams facing off against other 2 player teams. This is the 4th year I've hosted a teams tournament. You can find the results of previous years here:
Summer 2017: Triple Trouble Win
Summer 2016: Vizzéteers Win
Summer 2015: Vizzéteers Win
Summer 2014: Retro Renegades Win
Summer 2013: Kogarasumaru Win

This tournament will last for 10 weeks, 6 of those weeks being regular weeks and the last 4 of those weeks being playoff weeks. The 8 teams with the most points will enter the playoffs.

If you have a tight schedule or don't know how your availability is, don't worry, you'll be able to schedule a day and time for your matchup each week. You can also get a backup player on your team who can fill in for whenever you can't make it to a match (or you can sign up as a backup player). You, your team and your opponents each week will come up with a day and time that works for all of you to do your weekly matchup. In other words, it's a very flexible tournament.

You must enter as a team, so find someone who is willing to be your teammate and let me know what your team name is but if you can't find a teammate, just let me know that you're interested in joining but don't have a partner and I'll find someone for you. Your team may contain a 3rd user, a user who will basically be one of your backups in case one of you can't participate in a matchup in any given week or someone who can fill in if one of the main players of the team is bad at a game that gets picked. The 3rd backup player isn't required but is suggested if you can find someone willing to take on that role. If you can't find a teammate, just let me know that you're interested but don't have a team and I'll add you to the list of users looking for a teammate.

Be careful on who you choose as a teammate. If your teammate doesn't show up for a matchup, then it's you against 2. If your teammate gets banned from the competition or drops out, then you have to play the entire tournament alone unless you can find someone to replace them.

NOTE: You don't need the PlayStation item to join PlayStation netplay sessions. Also, the games of this tournament will be available to everyone while the tournament is active.

The games that this tournament will include (some of these might change):

Mixed System:
-Bomberman '94 (TG)
-Super Spike V'Ball (NES)
-Final Match Tennis (TG)
-Motoroader (TGCD) ?

Super Nintendo:
-Vs. Collection
-Micro Machines 2 - Turbo Tournament
-Super Bomberman 4 (English Translation) ?
-Tiny Toon Adventures - Wacky Sports Challenge ?
-NBA Jam ?

PlayStation:
-Micro Machines V3
-Shaolin
-Crash Team Racing ?
-Crash Bash ?
-Micro Maniacs ?

If you know of a good 2 vs 2 game, please recommend it and I'll see about getting it added!
Games with a ? next to them are games that aren't confirmed for this tournament yet.

The games will be grouped together and each week a team can veto a group which means for their matchup that week, no game from that system can be picked. This will allow users to compete who are unable to do netplay for a certain system because they'll be able to simply veto that system each week and never have to worry about playing a game for it.

Requirements
-You should preferably live in the United States (unless you have had very little lag problems playing netplay with USA users)
-The RGR Plugin must work fine on your computer and netplay should work for at least 3 of the systems mentioned above
-You must be free at least 1 hour every week that this tournament takes place or have a backup player that can fill in for you any week that you're unavailable
-If your on the ban list, you cannot enter. To see who is on the ban list, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=60334

Prizes
1st = 300,000 Viz or $300 Worth of Steam Games (aka 30 Raffle Tickets)
2nd = 180,000 Viz or $180 Worth of Steam Games (aka 18 Raffle Tickets)
3rd = 90,000 Viz or $90 Worth of Steam Games (aka 9 Raffle Tickets)
Click here to see all the games you can choose from if you win.
(teams will share the prize)

Trophy Award
Every user of the winning team will get a special trophy item added to their Vizzed Market inventory. Users will be able to display all the trophies they've earned on their profiles (when I'm done remaking them) and they'll also be permanently enshrined on a Hall of Fame page.

Penalty
If you miss more than 50% of your matches, then you'll be added to the ban list. This rule does not apply to backup players and you wont be affected by this rule if you can get your backup player to fill in for you in a week that you'll miss.

Signup ends and Tournament begins on Monday, June 18th

If you want to enter, reply to the below thread with your team name, who the leader of the team is and who is on your team. If you don't have a team or can't find one, respond to this thread saying that you want to form a team with someone and I'll add you to the list of users looking for a teammate.

I'm going to be streaming 2 vs 2 games from the Retro Game Room in the netplay lobby. The main purpose of this netplay stream will be to find some more games that have a 2 vs 2 mode or can support a 2 vs 2 setup for the upcoming Summer Team Tournament, which is now open for signup.

Users are free to join us in testing out the games since we'll need at least 4 users for our testing purposes. Foxyman1113 and I will be co-hosting the stream on my Twitch channel together and we'll be on the Vizzed Discord server doing voice chat and everyone is welcome to join in on that as well. If anyone has suggestions for games for us to try, feel free to let us know in the below thread or during the stream.

On Wednesday, 5/30/2018, from 5-9 PM (central time zone) we'll all be listening to and rating the songs from the Xbox Music Competition. Shortly before each song finishes, I'll give users a link to where they can rate each song and the song submitters get points for any rating above a 3 (out of 5).

I will be hosting this event on my Twitch channel and I'll be giving away a total of $250 worth of Steam Games in the form of Vizzed Raffle Tickets which can be used to redeem Steam games and other digital games including eShop, Uplay and more. The Raffle Tickets can also be traded into the Vizzed Market for 10,000 Viz each.

The more songs you rate, the higher your chances are of winning a raffle after the stream is over. Each rating you make during the stream is basically another entry in the raffle. There will be over 1000 digital games that winners will be able to pick from. You can see a full list of redeemable games here:

I've created a requests page with the purpose of helping me prioritize what needs to be done, helping me keep track of what needs to be done, and letting you all have some input in what I do with the time I invest on the site.

You can find the request page here:
https://www.vizzed.com/request.php

If you have an idea for a current feature, a problem that you want to report or a minor typo, you can report it among many other things on that page. Even if you want to suggest for me to invest more time into the community by either posting more or gaming more with users, that sort of stuff can also be suggested. Basically any direct request you have for me.

You can even give input on things already suggested by either "Liking" those ideas (by clicking the heart) or by responding to the comments sections of those pages. The page is not completely done and I plan to add a little more functionality. Keep in mind that not all ideas can realistically be done or considered but I'll do what I can and take care of what is beneficial for the site.

I get a lot of suggestions, feedback, ideas and sometimes it can be overwhelming at how many emails or private messages I get. I do sometimes forget about things reported so this page will make sure I don't forget. I often forget to make a post about things I do or fix and this page will show what I'm currently working on and what gets done when it gets done so it'll definitely be a page worth checking out often (although most of the time I make threads about the big updates but it might take me a while).

The "Feature Request" option is currently disabled since I don't currently have time to add new features and nor should I until I fix all of the current issues. Some of you have great ideas and I'm excited to hear what feature ideas you all might have but that option wont be available for at least a few months and any feature requests disguised as something else (placed into a different category for example) will have to be declined for now

I built this page for you guys to help me become a better owner and developer. I'm still trying to become more invested and involved with you all. For me, this is the best and most organized way I could think of at reconnecting with the community and working together at rebuilding what is broke and resolving what is wrong

If you have any questions or feedback, reply to this thread:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=100615

Today and over the past few weeks I've been fixing various netplay issues and also recreated the Netplay Sessions page. Here's a list of things I've done.

New Netplay Sessions Page
-The new page is smaller, cleaner and is migrated to the "new site code".
-There's now a list that shows the top most popular RGR games to netplay along with a 'Create Session' link that lets you create a netplay session for that game right from the netplay sessions page.
-A game session history tracker now displays the last 50 netplay sessions. A good way to find out when users usually do netplay, if you missed a netplay session, and also gives you ideas for games to netplay.

Bug Fixes
-Netplay sessions stay open and don't auto close when users aren't chatting.
-Netplay sessions get removed again from the netplay sessions page when a session is no longer being used.
-Chat room in both the game window and netplay sessions page should be working fine and has been upgraded and modified to a better script.
-The links for leaving and deleting a session are available again in the play window of a netplay session. The 'Reset' button is also available again to those who created the session.

For those who don't know, the RGR Plugin lets you join and create netplay sessions for games in the Retro Game Room which lets you play multiplayer games online with other users of Vizzed. Supported systems include SNES, NES, PS1, Genesis, SMS, N64, TG16, PCFX, TGCD and more! You can join a session in progress from the Netplay Sessions page or you can create a new session by finding a game in the Retro Game Room, scrolling half way down the game's page and clicking the 'Click here to Start a New Netplay Session' link, which lets you set up the netplay session. Netplay sessions work best in Google Chrome.

The Vizzed Streamers page is back up. It's been down for quite a while and hasn't been functioning properly for even longer. For those who don't know, the Vizzed Streamers page is a page that promotes users on Vizzed who stream on Twitch. You don't have to stream Retro Game Room games but it is a requirement to stream RGR games at least once a month to stay on the page and streams involving RGR games will be prioritized over the other streams. You'll also earn Viz while streaming RGR games.

If you stream on Twitch regularly, it'd definitely be beneficial to get yourself added to the Twitch Streamers page. Streams not only appear on the Streams page (with chat too so they actually show up as viewers in your stream) but the streams also get promoted on the index page of the Retro Game Room.

You can Sign Up to the Vizzed Streamers page here:

The Vizzed annual Bomberman '94 Tournament begins week 3 tonight and both of the matchups taking place tonight will be live streamed with commentary among those competing. Below are the matchup times, who is in the matchups and where the stream will be taking place.

7:00 PM Matchup (central time zone)
-Foxyman1113
-Davideo7
-trixz2007
-DavidMcC1989
-Vanelan
It'll be streamed on trixz2007's Live.me channel here:
http://www.liveme.com/user/index.html?s=759159726814003200

9:00 PM Matchup (central time zone)
-nakina
-thing1
-Pringur0
-Davideo7
-lilwildwolf21
(possible celebrity guest appearance by Foxyman1113)
It'll be streamed on lilwildwolf21's (djinn) Twitch channel here:
https://www.twitch.tv/djinnsgamingchannel

trixz2007 and lilwildwolf21 both stream most of their matchups and since every contest has 2 matchups a week, lots of opportunities to watch some of the matchups. I also stream my matchups when I'm in a matchup that doesn't have anyone else streaming and I do that on my Twitch channel.

Some of these matchups can get intense. The 7 PM matchup from week 1 was pretty epic and tonight's 7 PM matchup contains most of the players from that matchup who all happen to be some of the toughest players in this tournament.

It's definitely worth showing up to these matchups, even if you're not in the tournament or into Bomberman. We usually keep the conversations fun and interactive and it's also a great opportunity to catch up with fellow vizzed users.

In this tournament we'll be playing Bomberman '94 for the Turbo Grafx. Each user will play 2 matchups a week. You get to choose which day and time you want to play each week from a list of available times and days. Each matchup could be any of the following:
-1-5 Player Free for All
-2 Players vs 2 Players
-1 Player vs 1 Player
-Other possible combinations

This tournament is incredibly flexible to everyone's schedule. Each week you can choose between the selectable times and days that you're available to play. As long as you're available 2 nights a week between 7 PM - 9 PM central time Tuesday-Friday nights then you'll be able to participate. You can even miss a few matchups and still have a shot at making it to the final matchup (but just don't miss too many otherwise you'll be added to the netplay ban list).

In each matchup the players will play until someone has won 5 games so a single matchup can take between 15-30 minutes. 1st place will get 7 points, 2nd place 5 points, 3rd place 3 points, 4th place 2 points and 5th place 1 point. Failure to show up to a matchup automatically results into 0 points. Every week (except the first week) the 2 users (or more, depending on how many enter) with the lowest amount of points will be eliminated from the tournament. If there's a tie, both users will be eliminated.

For each matchup, the level you play and the time you play will be predetermined. All matches will take place at either 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 or 9:00 PM central time on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. If you are eliminated from the tournament for failing to show up to your matchups, you'll be placed on the tournament ban list which means you wont be able to participate in a netplay tournament until next year and you'll also be fined 10,000 Viz.

This is the 5th year that we've had a Bomberman '94 tournament. Here are the top 5 results from each of the previous 4 years:
2017: 1st. Davideo7, 2nd. Linkums, 3rd. Foxyman1113, 4th. gamerforlifeforever, 5th. Barathemos
2016: 1st. Davideo7, 2nd. Foxyman1113, 3rd. AceShock, 4th. Linkums, 5th. mvhupsel
2015: 1st. Davideo7, 2nd. Foxyman1113, 3rd. Linkums, 4th. deg2000, 5th. lilwildwolf21
2014: 1st. Davideo7, 2nd. madison, 3rd. AceShock, 4th. Koda, 5th. Forest Dragon

Requirements:
-You must be available 2 nights a week between 7 PM - 9 PM central time Tuesday-Friday nights
-You must live in the United States (unless you have had very little lag problems playing netplay with USA users)
-The RGR Plugin must work fine on your computer
-If you're on the ban list, you cannot enter. To see who is on the ban list, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=60334

Prizes:
1st = 300,000 Viz or $300 worth of Steam Games
2nd = 200,000 Viz or $200 worth of Steam Games
3rd = 100,000 Viz or $100 worth of Steam Games
4th = 50,000 Viz
5th = 25,000 Viz

(since this is an elimination type tournament, I see no reason for an entry fee)
