What's your favorite soundtrack from a sports game?

The only soundtrack I can really remember is NHL 94 on the Genesis. The sounds were decent for the time and the organs sounded fairly realistic.

When it comes to most soundtrack songs, do you usually prefer the original or the remixed version of that song?

I am usually an "originalist"; Dissidia Final Fantasy 8 was a disaster. However, Final Fantasy III DS has some amazing tracks that are infinitely better (the airship, Forbidden Land Eureka).

What is your favorite Mega Man soundtrack?

zanderlex : I am not sure what you mean by "real", so the answer will be general. I usually enjoy orchestrated version of video game music. In fact, they are often better than inside the game (like Suteki Da Ne or Battle with the Four Fiends).

Next up are "semi" orchestrated versions like the Shining Force II Symphonic Suite or the Sound Story of Shining in the Darkness. Most of the time you can tell that these are not real instruments but the arrangements are still good. However for remixes like Final Fantasy V Dear Friends it mostly sounds horrible; the synth is much to heavy or the arrangements are far off the original ones.

Then come the piano remixes. Since it is a single instrument it can not carry as well the "grand" feelings of overworld themes for example. While there are some excellent piano tracks (JENOVA, tracks like Treno or Slide Show that used piano in-game) I generally find those inferior.

Finally there are the other remixes such as console upgrade (Super Mario All-Star v the NES Mario games) which completely spoil the original tracks. I mean, the Mario 1 All-Star overworld theme sounds Jamaican! There has also been a remix album for the Phantasy Star games that sounded absolutely horrible except for Searren type 386. Especially for the Phantasy Star IV part, it sounded like the volume was turned down.

Have you heard the soundtrack of Risk of Rain? And if so, do you enjoy it?

If it's a game soundtrack, I'm unfortunately NOT up-to-date with games. So no, I have not heard of it.

Of all the Sonic games I've played, Sonic Spinball was probably the least interesting. I mean, especially after Sonic 3 and Knuckles

Of the games I remember - a bad soundtrack usually equals a terrible game in my experience - Sword of Vermilion ranks pretty high. They synthetization is so heavy and NES music sounds like it's from an orchestra.
