I still have to go with Final Fantasy VIII. Yes, the plot was crappy and confusing compared to VII, but I am still in AWE of the intro sequence, both for the graphics and the music. It was such a jump from VII.

X comes in VERY close second. It had a much better story line (I love stories of corruption) and the music was almost better. The voice acting was annoying at times but it was otherwise a masterpiece.
