My favorite games for the SNES probably has to be F Zero. I used o play that game all the tim when I was young, and even though it was very chanelging for me, I loved the game and I had so much fun with it.

Gemfire was a decent one for a strategy game and I think nothing matches up to Final Fantasy III when it comes to Role Playing games.  You can also enjoy Donkey Kong Country with the music, sound, story telling, and game play.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is definitely one of my favorite SNES games of all time (if not my favorite). Fantastic story line. Only problem is on the RGR Plugin, there is currently no way to see the ending as it freezes soon after beating the final boss.

My favourite and the best in my opinion is defiantly Tales of Phantasia a great long story with love able characters and best music you'll hear in a while there is a few downsides to this version of the game though but I still recommend it.

Mega man X, bruh that game is legendary, it's hard but not too hard, you can fight the 8 bosses in any order and you get a weapon for each boss, the game awards exploration and finally it's just downright fun. It has 7 sequels so look at those too

Oh wow this is a tough one. I would say the top 3 for me would be Mega Man 7, Mega Man X3, and Mega Man X2. Those are my favorite SNES games and in my opinion some of the best. 

I also have to mention Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 and 3 and Yoshi's Island as well as Super Mario All stars.

The best SNES game i've played was Super Mario All-Stars. It is basically a remake of the original NES games. One version included Super Mario World. Which is a SNES game. The other SNES game that was good was Mr. Nutz, but that game was extremely difficult. There are too many enemies on the screen. It does has some good music to it.

I worked at a video game arcade through most of the 1990's.

The Super Nintendo was the first system that I saw what was going on at the video game arcades, saw how they were being translated to home versions, and thinking, "Wow.  It's starting to get pretty darn close."

Having said that, I don't think I spent more of my time on a Super Nintendo game than "Mortal Kombat II."

Finally, Nintendo got rid of that lame "no blood on our pretty system," rule, and the result was a near perfect translation of "Mortal Kombat II" to the SNES.

I agree with zanderlex, F-Zero's awesome. But the best SNES game I've ever played (not necessarily my favorite, but the best overall) would have to be Super Castlevania IV. Just brilliant, the music, the graphics, the gameplay, the controls... there's nothing bad about it, it's a near-perfect game!

Super Metroid by a long way. The great mix between Exploration, Puzzles and Combat makes this game more than a sidescroller. It's predecessor on the NES is great too but more could be done with the extra 8 bits and thus it's better. 

I've got to admit though, I haven't played megaman X and a lot of people consider that the best SNES game.
